Book Review: An amazing book about relating... and So Much More!

This is NOT your typical book about relationships. That's probably why I found it so much fun to read and so incredibly effective. I opened it expecting a book about how to improve my interactions with other people and closed it feeling like I now had the owner's manual for my life! The Kanes have a gentle, entertaining, yet incredibly profound approach that actually started shifting my perspective on my own life before I even finished reading.
My relationships have improved greatly since I read How To Create a Magical Relationship. I feel closer to my friends, my co-workers, my relatives, even people I don't know! I have begun to realize possibilities for my life that did not exist before I read this book. I believe this all comes from the fact that their perspective allowed me to see more of myself than I ever have. At one point the Kanes write: "If you want a magical relationship, start with yourself." What has left the strongest impression on me is how much more comfortable and well I feel in my relationship with myself.
One thing I especially loved was how easy it was to absorb the information. I learned how to listen more effectively and how to recognize behaviors and actions of which I was previously unaware. I actually learned, from a simple book, how to derive more satisfaction from everything I do. And yet none of it felt like work. In contrast to many other books I've read, there are no difficult tasks or heavy concepts. They simply present some incredibly unique ideas in a very practical way with lots of examples and anecdotes. It really felt like having one of those conversations with a friend that changes you forever in ways you never could have imagined.
If you want to read a truly brilliant book about relationships, this is the one. Just don't be surprised if you get a lot more than you expected.
