Book Reviews of How to Go to College Almost for Free

Book Review: Great Whatever Your Interest
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the things I like most about this book is that the author shows you how to capitalize on your interests and talents no matter what they might be. For the artist, scientist, athlete, all-around student, etc., the author shows you how to do simple things that help turn these abilities into scholarship possibilities. My son is an artist (painter), and it's already helped him expand upon his interests (he now helps teach painting to little kids as community service) to help him appeal better to scholarship judges and committees. He really enjoys teaching the kids and that's just something he never would have thought to do if he hadn't read the book. I especially suggest reading Chapter 7 on "Content Strategies".

Book Review: The only scholarship book you need.
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a college student who doesn't qaulify for a lot of financial aid from my school, so I've basically seen every type of scholarship book out there. I can tell you that "How to Go to College Almost for Free" is the ONLY scholarship book you need to get. The book has everything you need, including how to find scholarships, how to fill out winning applications, and how to avoid the common pitfalls. Before I got this book I thought I was going to have to take a term off from school to earn money. But after following its step by step instructions, I won 4 scholarships in a matter of months and not only paid for my tuition but had money left over to cover my books and fees.

Book Review: No one should ever need money for college
Summary: 5 Stars

I have done some extensive research and Ben Kaplan hits it right on the head. He shows you what you need to do to get money for college in the form of scholarships. He is the scholarship coach. I also have a very reliable source for students who are looking for money for college, realmoneyforcollege.com
Ben also talks about the mystery of financial aid and how it works. This specific aspect of college is often feared by many students and parents. How to go to college almost for free can also be titled: How to attend college with money in your pocket.
Make no mistake about it. If you are going looking for money look in this book first.

Book Review: Good for the Clueless, No Big Deal
Summary: 1 Stars

This book is ok for the clueless, but if you've already applied for scholarships and in the minority group, then this book does not help much. Once in the website, all links are to buy Kaplan's products. Navigating his website is a practice exercise all by itself to find a decent link, you have to weave through all the non-applicable stuff to get anything decent. By then, you're just frustrated at the wasted time. The book gives a lot of promises, but afterwards, you'll see he only skimmed the surface just like any other book.

Book Review: How to go to College Almost for Free
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my grandson, he has already written in for several grants, and working on more. This is a great gift for any high school kid, and even kids in college. I don't believe the parents should go into debet for this, the kids will do much better if they have to work for it. I've seen to many parents almost go broke with several kids at college at the same time. They end up with nothing for retirement. Believe me, you need a nest egg.Take if from a grandma that has a great pension.
