Book Review: A great book on fasting, highly recommend
Summary: 5 Stars
This is my favorite book on fasting and I have read about a dozen of them . Whenever I fast I always dig it out and read a few chapters. I love his high-energy style - reminiscent of the old fire-and-brimstone preachers. Reading it always increases my enthusiasm for fasting and helps solidify my resolve to stay on the fast. I have bought two copies of this book during my lifetime and they both have worn out from using them so much. I have just ordered another one from Amazon.
I follow the book's recommended schedule of fasting for up to 10 days every 3 months. I have been on this regimen for over 20 years. I must say it is easier fasting now then when I first started. I believe the body, especially the liver, adjusts to fasting and actually looks forward to it and lets you know when it's time. I am currently on the third day of my winter fast and am experiencing absolutely no hunger whatsoever.
The book recommends fasting using water only but I always to a combination of juice fasting and water fasting where several days of juice fasting bookend several days of water fasting. I find this to be easier on the body.
Paul Bragg was a true pioneer and I will forever be indebted to him for the path he blazed for us. Thanks Paul!
