Handwriting without tears makes the pictured chalkboard - it
IS made out of real slate - I think the above person bought the one from Jo-Anns Fabric - which IS made out of masonite. If you look it up - it is only 1.99 - it is available here on amazon. It would make for a nice cheaper alternative from the real slates from HWT if they are nice at all ... They do look comparable, except they are made of cheaper material. But, if looking as I am for 10+ of them, it does cut down the price significantly. I know that the big boards that HWT uses is masonite or something like that ... Not sure If I want to try the cheaper alternative, but it is the same size etc... and I need 10 --- but did want to say that the above review is stupid - she likely bought the other item and left review here.
