Book Reviews of I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell

Book Review: Too Much...!
Summary: 4 Stars

A schizophrenic circus of sex, alcohol, bad behavior, bizzare friends, and incomprehensible situations... all delivered with such a gift for sarcasm and a profound dose of understatement that the reader is left absolutely reeling with a sense of actual ennui for the abnormal... imagine your own worst vision, of the most extreme and ridiculous frat-house stories you've heard over the years -- all told with the grace and dignity of Stephen King writing the uncensored biography of Jeffrey Dahmer.

This is actually too much for one reading. (!) It leaves the reader actually weary -- the bizarreness which strikes you at the open, is -- by the time you've read it all -- just exhausting. This is literary shock & awe; it's assault and battery posing as a book.

The book needs a warning sticker: to be read in small doses.

A little Tucker Max goes a long, LONG way.

Book Review: wishing for a time machine..
Summary: 1 Stars

Really wish I had a time machine. I'd go back in time and NOT buy this garbage. IF you like drunken frat boys engaging in homoerotic, misoginistic acts of idiototic drunken debauchery, then, by all means, this is what you want. But if that doesn't sound appealing to you, or you didn't just graduate from college and want to relieve the stupid things you did while partying, then ignore this book. Give no credence to people who recommend it. This book is a disgusting look at various sex acts that should have been left in the "author's" head and not written down and shared. I can't say enough bad things about this book, I wish there was a negative rating system, I wish I could delete this book from existing in my head. Failing that, I guess I can warn people about it. This is not a feel good, bad boy learns from his mistakes and makes good, just a juvenile look at bodily functions.

Book Review: Taking it to the limit...
Summary: 5 Stars

Check your morals at the door before you delve into Tucker Max's warped reality of debauchery and you will truly savor this book for what it is: A testament to the life of a hopelessly decadent man who ---whether you choose to admit it or not--- has lived out the fantasies of your largely more inhibited average American male.

While it takes no stretch of the imagination to envision how much of a potential scumbag Tucker Max could be in real life, I must applaud him for demonstrating how incredibly wild of an existance someone can lead without getting killed in the progress. Having personally met only a handful of people who have lived in the fastlane to this extent, the common denominator would certainly have to be that even if they died tomorrow, they would have lived more intense and gratifying lives than most people experience in an entire lifetime. Bravo to them.

Book Review: I'm a Chick and I still loved it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had heard of Tucker Max from his website and while walking through the bookstore, I came across this book and decided to buy it. I had not read a book since college, it is not something I enjoy doing, but the book looked hilarious and I have not been able to stop telling people about it. We are passing it around my group of friends so everyone can have a chance to read it.

We have all seen guys like him in the bar and I know the kind of girls he picks up. I see them walk out of the bar and I always wonder... what happens next... is it really as I would picture? WELL... Now we can find out!

I told some of my young friends they have to read it before they turn 21 and start going to bars because it will be a wakeup call for the innocents! LOL

I would love to sit in a bar and see Tucker Max work.. but until then, I love the book!

Book Review: Outstanding...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say that I've read every story Tucker has published on his site, however I purchased this book to get the few stories that aren't on the site. I've been a fan of Tucker for sometime. I believe that the Vegas story as well as the Foxfield Weekend story are worth the price of the book alone. My mother, a devoted Catholic, found Tucker's book at my house and started reading. I'll repeat that, MY HOLY ROLLER CATHOLIC MOTHER READS TUCKER MAX! And she doesn't just read it, she laughs hysterically at the content. Anyone who dislikes what Tucker has written, currently and prior to this book, need to seriously re-evaluate themselves as people and realize that we only go through this life once. You can either "indulge every whim" in life, or watch someone else do it. Tucker knows how to live life and his short stories are proof of this. NOW GO BUY THIS!!!
