Book Reviews of I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence

Book Review: The perfect hostess book <grin>
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book as a Christmas present for my daughter who is in her late 20s. It was on her list of things for Santa to bring. After opening it, she spent some time reading it (to the chagrin of the rest of us) and ignoring everyone else, and she couldn't stop looking at it. I would assume that to mean that it was a great book as she kept showing me page after page and was laughing out loud - even tried to read sections of the book to me!

Book Review: Nasty ignorant thoughts coming from a nasty ignorant woman
Summary: 1 Stars

So sad she is the sister of David and has been riding on his coat-tails for so long. At least his first two books were funny. This book is incredibly vulgar and poorly written. I'm surprised it was published at all. Just chock full of bigotry subtle and not so subtle. To see what I mean, search for Amy Sedaris and "ching chong". Let's do our part to make sure Amy Sedaris is headed back to the gutter where she belongs.

Book Review: And I Like You!
Summary: 5 Stars

Amy Sedaris is, as always, hilarious in this very unusual yet informative book on cooking, decorating, and yes even instruction for panty hose use. The pictures are superb, the text amusing, and the recipes original. Not only does this book serve as a helpful tool for entertaining others, but also for entertaining the reader. Chalk up another winner for a Sedaris sibling.

Book Review: Hilarity Must Be a Strictly Sedaris Gene
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a huge fan of Strangers with Candy, and love her brother's books, so figured I would purchase this title with a gift card. I am so glad that I did. Her tips and tricks for hospitality are not only practical, but so hilariously penned that it makes both a perfect coffee table book and handbook. Her quick-fix style is shabby chic and practical for someone like me.

Book Review: Useful in Soooo Many Ways!
Summary: 5 Stars

HA! My kind of How-to guide.
The recipes are actually real and the humor has bite. I also like the retro style photos, the book is jam-packed full of literally everything she could think of which gives this a scrapbook feel. You can imagine that this is Ms. Sedaris' life work. And it's a labour of love.

Learn it, know it, LOVE IT!
