Book Reviews of Inkdeath (Inkheart Trilogy)Book Review: Inkthoughts Summary: 4 Stars
Before reading to my 8 year old, I like to read or peruse a series. I enjoyed the trilogy and I know she will enjoy the books. As an adult reader, however, I felt as though Inkdeath left too many unanswered questions which weakened the characters. By Inkspell, Meggie, who had shown so much potential as a writer, petered out and grew too whimpy toward the end (because of a boy???). Dustfinger seemed to be a walking dead man, only really "caring" when his daughter's life was at threat, and when the panic had passed returning to his zombie-like existance - poor Farid. Mo seemed to be totally unperturbed by the whole adventure, kind of like walking away from a bicycle accident. But the one that really left me unsettled was Orpheus just skiddling off. Are we waiting for Inkfuture?
Book Review: Brilliant, Stunning, Cant even think of a word... Summary: 5 Stars
This book, this SERIES is just fabulous! It is art printed in black and white. The words paint pictures in your head and sing to you as you read them. It was originally in german, which makes it even more mind-boggling how good it is. The story is so incredibly original and captivating. It is action, it is fairy tale, it is romance, it is comedy ,it is everything a good book should be! Best of all is the writing. It draws you in and make you hungry for more. The whole plot makes you bite your nails and feel for the characters. The end was both sad and happy, something I love in a book! Overall, this book was so wonderful, there isn't a word amazing enough to describe it. Would recommend to anyone!
Book Review: my deepest fear coming true Summary: 2 Stars
when i looked up the book Inkspell about three months ago i was insanely happy about the third book coming out. i counted the days patiently only to find that i was dissapointed by its flaws now i am a firm beleiver in you shalt not trash books but my personal belef is that once i found out that Farid and Meggie weren't staying together i lost all interest. i love how in inkspell it talks about them, while trying to save their lives were doing normal teenage stuff like kissing. this book also wastes valuable time talking about Resa's pregnacy. the ending rounds off well its not like the other books with dark endings its a happy one but the writer finished it the way she thought she should
Book Review: Inkdeath Summary: 4 Stars
This is the third book in the trilogy, which is the most captivity and full of some twist to the story I did not expect. Ms. Funke is a wonderful writing and makes you feel like you are part of the story with her description and details of the characters and story. The books is full of characters from every aspect of personalities, which encompass the never ending struggle of good over evil. Inkdeath is a wonderful book although its covers are packed full of pages the words flow like a rapid stream, as the story develops you will find it harder and harder to find a stopping place to rest your eyes. A must read, but you have to read the first two books first. (Inkheart and InkSpell)
Book Review: She saved the best for last! Summary: 5 Stars
Though I love all of the books in the Inkheart trilogy (what would one be without the others?), Inkdeath is by far my favorite! Here is what I liked about Inkdeath:
The story moved at a great pace that kept me reading ( I hated to put it down..but what is a grown-up to do?)
The characters were true to the other books and clearly evolving with the story
The plot had several twists and turns, leaving you wondering what was going to happen next
And finally, it just blew me away! The creativity and detail was enough to have me thinking even when the book was closed.
Great trilogy and another job well done by Cornelia Funke!
