Book Reviews of Jack & Jill (Alex Cross)Book Review: Descent begins Summary: 4 Stars
Once again, Detective Alex Cross is the main character in another James Patterson book. As usual, the story is very fast-paced, with quick, short chapters. Patterson knows how to build tension and accomplish an efficient thriller. This time, Cross and his team have to face two simultaneous enemies: the first, a pair of loose-cannon killers, acting in the high-society and political circles in Washington, D.C.; the other, an insane killer murdering innocent children. "Jack and Jill" is not as good as the previous two books in the Cross series; although Alex Cross is less superhero-like and more humnan in this third installment, the two parallel stories are confusing, and Patterson was not able to create villains and minor characters as well developed as the ones he created in "Along came a spider" and "Kiss the girls". I understand that "Jack and Jill" is somewhat a milestone in the Alex Cross series. From now on, the books are really a step down the ladder. Grade 8.0/10
Book Review: Rarely a predictible moment, true suspense to the end Summary: 5 Stars
Jack and Jill are more than they seem. On the surface they are cold-blooded serial killers, while the page by page, Patterson shapes the feeling that the random violent deaths signal something even more sinister. Meanwhile children are being murdered in Alex's home neighborhood hightening Cross's frustration over not being able to be in two places at once. Is there a connection between the two sets of murders? James Patterson's artistic writing style weaves the two strings of serial murder to gripping conclusions. I couldn't read fast enough to find out how the two sets of murders would be resolved but at the same time I didn't want to miss one phrase of Patterson's beautiful language. The only weak area of the book was reconcilling the two sets of murders with each other. I wantd a stronger parallel between the Jack and Jill murders and the Truth Sojourner murders. I would recommend this book to anyone who like a well written, suspenseful thriller.
Book Review: Jack and Jill, Went to the Hill, to kill, to kill, to kill Summary: 4 Stars
This was a phenominal read and very fast paced. First let me preface this review by saying that i do believe that its important to read the Alex Cross books in order. Many of the "bad" reviews came from reviewers who have not read the books in the proper order. OK, coming off my soap box now.
Alex Cross is on the hunt again. High Profile murders are being committed in the Heart of DC to some pretty important people. Alex is pulled off of a more personal case in order to work on this high profile one. But fear not the caped crusader will not be denied his target. The intesity of this book is great and i found it very difficult to put the book down. I thoroughly enjoy Patterson's writing style. He makes his stories easy to read and thrilling on top of that.
If you are looking for some exciting reads this summer i encourage you to read the Alex Cross series. You wont be disappointed...

Book Review: THE BEST Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book in one night, it simply was impossible to put down. I'm 14 years old and I don't read squat, so when my mother threw me in the bookstore i wasn't expecting much. I journeyed over to the mysteries section and saw Jack & Jill sitting on the shelf, the cover was pretty interesting, so i picked it up. Larry King raved about it, and the plot looked really kickass so i got it. After chucking all the other books I bought from the store across the backyard I picked up Jack & Jill. I was so thrilled. The detail is fantastic. The sex scene was good enough for a mystery (To those who were dissapointed by it, go buy a Hustler you ungrateful perverts). After reading it in one night, I went back to the bookstore and bought Along Came A Spider, Kiss The Girls, and Cat & Mouse. I've read them all. James Patterson is the best crime author of the 90's and anyone who says he isn't is just plain retarded.
Book Review: Jack and Jill will send a chill down your spine! Summary: 4 Stars
The storyline and format of this book is very reader friendly. The suspense is non stop and the hero, Alex Cross, is a believable and lovable character. The chapters are short and the development of the two storylines are not confusing. The good thing about all of the suspense and mystery is that these things could very possibly happen. Even as we speak! Who of us has never questioned the underground and covert operations of our own government. If the Kennedy assasination and it's cover-up fascinate you then this book is a must read. I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel so I can find out what happens between Alex, his new love interest, and his stalker. By the way, the love scenes are quite steamy but written with good taste...not too saucy! These add to the character development and enhance the understanding of their diverse personalities. This is an entertaining book and will make a great movie one day.
