Book Reviews of Jamie's KitchenBook Review: Jamie rocks!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love Jamie's books! I love all the pictures, the great simple recipes, and insight into Jamie's world.
This book was written during the time when he started training young unemployed kids to become chefs. The chapters include some great unusual salads, cooking without heat, poaching, cooking in pouches, stewing, frying, roasting, grilling, and baking.
There is only one recipe per page, and include a beautiful picture of the prepared product. In between the recipes there are tons of pictures of Jamie, for all the fans out there.:)
These books are definitely a writing from the heart.
Book Review: Great expectations, no so good results Summary: 3 Stars
I think this book does not make Jamie a favor, its not what i was expecting for, its more of a lots of pictures, a story behind a certain food, how to list and tips, but not really the best for cooking or for recipes, i feel that some chapters are really good, but there is something missing in this book that will leave you wondering if its more of a book for reading while in bead that one to be sitting on took of your kitchen, great illustrations and pictures but i feel that is lacking some content
Book Review: not very practical or appealing Summary: 2 Stars
Just looking at the pictures (as many of Jamie, it seems, as of the food) and reading the recipes, I tagged 6 as both appealing and do-able. That's not too many from a book of this size. Of course it's all a matter of personal taste, but just for example, an inordinate number of recipes call for mint, which is fine if you're crazy about mint. If not, not. I'd recommend leafing through this at the library or book store before purchasing.
Book Review: Good tips, not so good recipies... Summary: 3 Stars
I was excited to get this cook book in the mail because I enjoy J.Oliver's sinmple approach to cooking. Unfortunetly, I found the meals he prepares impractical and too delicate for a family meal. His tips were helpful on food preparation but the rest was just pretty on paper.
Book Review: Ingredients are readily available! Summary: 5 Stars
I love cookbooks with recipes that are easily duplicated at home, and this one is excellent. The photos make it all more tantalizing. Jamie Oliver produces yet another excellent book for beginners and advance chefs alike. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed!
