Book Review: Beautiful Quilt, Bad Instructions

My best friend loves my quilts. I've been making them for her for years. She buys the material, chooses the pattern, and I do the rest. She found this pattern last October and asked me to do it. I was concerned as I have used 25 Years and Still Stripping and have a hard time following the instructions. I always wind up looking at the pictures, using the measurements for the blocks, and figuring the rest out on my own.
This pattern is worse than the ones in the book. Originally I thought maybe it's just me that has a problem with her directons. So I checked with some quilting friends and they have the same problems I do.
There are several different sizes for the quilt. Thank goodness for clear pictures as my friend wants a king size and matching lap quilt in this pattern.
I have used a lot of other pattern books and have had no trouble understanding the directions. I think I'll pass on any others by Eleanor no matter how lovely the pattern is.
