Book Reviews of John Shaw's Landscape PhotographyBook Review: Useful information, beautiful photographs Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the best books on landscape photography techniques. An excellent combination of practical technical information and inspirational creative ideas. The technical information is oriented towards 35 mm SLR's, so those with point-and-shoot cameras will find some of the content irrelevant, but the remainder of the book is so good that it's still well worth the price.
Book Review: Great Book Simple To Understand. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not gonna go deep into the contents of the book because others have done that. All I'm gonna tell you is that if your looking to understand photography in anyway this book is for you. John Shaw spells everything out to you in a very simple way that is easy to understand. If your not sure the first time just re-read the section again and it will come to you.
Book Review: A great way to spend $20 Summary: 5 Stars
If you want to learn as much as possible without laying out long green for a class or hardback textbook, pick up Shaw's volume. Your photography will improve more using Shaw's techiques than with a fancy, new lens (a lot cheaper at least!). John's language is very clear; never intidimating nor dumbed-down. Many nice high-quality photographs alongside text.
Book Review: Nice read Summary: 5 Stars
Yeah, it's film centric but much of the information is great for digital too. If you are a wannabee, hobbiest nature photographer like myself, this is a great read.
All of John Shaw's books are great. There is some overlap between them as he goes over the basics but they are all worth a read for any aspiring nature photographer.
Book Review: An Must Read for Any Serious Nature Photographer Summary: 5 Stars
This book is the most extensive and thourough collection of techniques as well as some of the most beautiful images of nature I have ever seen. If you ever had any doubts or questions on how to properly work your camera, develop interesting images or even how to find the perfect images in nature than this book is for you.
