Book Reviews of Kane and AbelBook Review: Thinner than I had hoped for.... Summary: 3 Stars
I have been searching for a novel that captivated me as much as "Pillars of the Earth", a bookstore clerk recommended this book she was not familiar with "Pillars" and unfortunately after a couple hundred pages it was obvious that this novel was not going to measure up. The character development and plot got thinner and thinner as the pages turned by. I did however finish the novel and was left unsatisfied. I felt the ending was too contrived. This was my first Jeffrey Archer novel at this point I don't believe I'm inspired enough to read another.
Book Review: Great family saga Summary: 5 Stars
This novel includes some of my favorites: a good family saga, a rags to riches immigrant story, plenty of intrigue, tension filled page turners, and a twist at the end that would shock even O. Henry. Kane & Abel are two characters who are equally likeable and dislikable and are so much alike they should be friends instead of enemies. The storytelling's great, the dialogue natural, the historical and the pacing both great. The only thing to dislike is how frustrated these characters will make you in the end!
Book Review: One of my all time favorites Summary: 5 Stars
The main reason I am writing this is to warn you against reading Matt Hetling's review because he gives away the whole secret/climax of the book. I can't believe it got past Amazon. Don't reviewers know not to give away the ending and secrets? Sometimes I'm afraid to read reviews for that very reason.
I won't give a description of the book since so many others have, but I will say it's one of my all time favorites. I thought it was outstanding.

Book Review: Incredible Story! Must Read! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was a total fluke. I was stranded at my older brothers cottage and found this no frills book at the laundry mat. I decided I needed something to pass the time, and ended up finding one of my favourite books of all time. Archer is absolutely incredible and his story telling is astonishing. What a tangled web or wonderful magic. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant I say. Rarely do I remember a book after I'm done, and yet I will never forget this one.
Book Review: A bit disappointing Summary: 3 Stars
Well written like all of his novels. I was very interested and involved with the characters. The characters are well developed, the story lines grew as we followed their lives. Then they became very un-likeable. These successful and driven men began to act out of character in my opinion.
The ending was very disappointing and as a result I cannot recommend the book. Great story telling, and then a real let down.
