Book Reviews of Killing Mr. GriffinBook Review: Killing Mr. Griffin Book Review Summary: 5 Stars
This book was honestly one of the greatest books I've ever read in my life. I opened it to the first page one day, and closed it on the last page only two days later. Just like she does with all her other phenomenal books, Lois Duncan wrote Killing Mr. Griffin so beautifully and included all sorts of figurative language in it. One of the best talents of this author is including lots of extended imagery, which appeared many times throughout this particular book. The way all the events were secretly interconnected greatly amazed it, though I didn't discover the secrets till the end of the story, of course. Every incident flowed nicely into another incident, and some of them created a chain reaction of unfortunate outcomes for the main characters. There were absolutely no flaws in the writing of this sad-themed book.
The entire idea of the book is so incredible itself. It's a story about a group of students who loathe their English teacher, Mr. Griffin, and decide to scare him into thinking that they were going to kill him. The teacher, who had coronary problems, ended up dying anyways from fright and lack of a certain medicine he had to take. Therefore, the students were held very responsible and got into even stickier situations trying to cope with the already existing problems at hand. I'd recommend this book to any mystery lover in the world, especially young adults. I'm sure that as soon as anybody reads the extraordinary synopsis at the back of the book, they'll find themselves already beginning the book anyways. :)
Book Review: killing mr.griffin Summary: 4 Stars
Killing Mr. Griffin is an exciting mystery book. It starts off with an average, geeky girl who wants nothing else but to fit in and move off to a far away place. Instead, she lets peer pressure get the best of her and gets stuck in a sticky situation. Her so called "friends" use her as a decoy in kidnapping their English teacher, Mr. Griffin. The student feel that they need to teach him a lesson because he gives everything but A's. So they tie him up and leave him in a remote mountain area where no one knows about. When Sue checks on him, she is shocked to find out he is dead. She will experience the effects of peer pressure versus her own conscience. I personally think that this book is very interesting. It keeps you guessing with every word you read. From how it all begins to how it ends keeps you on the edge of your seat. The book contain some mild language, and there is use of moderate violent themes. But, besides that, I enjoyed this entertaining book very much. If you do not
care for somewhat mystery novels with some action to it, this book is not for you. For me, when I read this book, I couldn't help but reading really fast because I wanted to get to the good part and what happens! I really liked this book. And even if you do not care for books like this, give it a try because you might end up really liking it! Although, if I didn't really like the ending too much. If I could change the ending I would of made the students turn them selves in and get punished for what they did.

Book Review: A Gripping Tale Summary: 4 Stars
Killing Mr. Griffin is a story about five kids who just wanted to teach their strict english teacher a lesson and get him to be easier on his students. They had just wanted to kidnap him and scare him a little. However, things didnt go like they planned and Mr. Griffin had ended up dead. Of course they hadn't meant for anything like that to happen, so the kids in a panic did all sorts of things to cover up what they had done, but had just got themselves into deeper trouble than they were in before. With all their work though, they had left one small detail and someone...was going to piece everything together. If you want to find out how the kids got themselves out of this mess....or if they got out of it at all, read this book! I thought Killing Mr. Griffin was a very good suspense story that will more than likely keep you at the edge of your seat. However, like in many stories the plot was good, yet you just couldnt connect with the characters and how they were feeling. That was how I felt when I read this story, but other than that I really liked how Lois Duncan had made everything happen. Also, I realized that this book is on the banned book list, but I don't understand why it would be. Though the book does have a bit of cursing and violence, there are also good things about it. Like for example, how it shows if you do something bad you can't hide from it, it'll catch up with you sooner or later. In the end, I would definitely recommend this book to fans of suspense stories.
Book Review: Good, but forgettable Summary: 4 Stars
Young Adult reading. I watched this movie at the end of August. I didn't realize that it was based on a book until Banned Books Week rolled around and I saw it on the list. So, I went out searching for this book. Basically, a group of teens plot to play a prank on their tight-ass English teacher. They didn't expect him to end up dead. I'm sure we all imagined wanting to get rid of a teacher that we didn't (or don't) like. These kids did. Though, his death wasn't part of the plan (at least not to most of them). This is typical YA reading pre-the teenage angst revolution. There isn't much character development and many of the characters fall into cliched roles such as the popular cheerleader and the mousy A student and the straight-edge class president. However, this really is an intriguing story for the simple fact that we do want know what will happen when they kidnap their teacher and then once the worse case scenario has happened, we watch as they fall into a spiral lies and deception. I'm glad that I watched the movie first or else, I would have totally hated it. If I watch a movie before I read a book, I don't feel as disappointed in it as when I read a book and then watch a movie. Anyhow, this book differs in many ways from its movie counterpart. Good, but like most young adult books of that era totally forgettable
