Being an intermediate french student, I was searching for easy to read french books and stumbled upon le petit nicolas. This is one of the most hilarious books I have read. The adventures of petit nicolas and his "copains" are very enjoyable. The french in this books is very easy to read something that even a beginner level french student can read. Nothing like a fun book like petit nicolas to boost your confidence in reading french.Book Review: Very Good

This is one of a series that I have found helpful in bettering my spelling, sentence structure, and overall confidence in the French language. Reading French goes a very long way to establishing and maintaining grammatic skills, and reinforces the many diverse ways that a new language differs from one's native tongue. These tales of a little french schoolboy will entertain everyone, both children and adults. Goscinny's drawings add an extra dimension to Sempé's excellent writing.Ces contes d'un petit garçon français amusera tout le monde, même avec des enfants et des adultes. Les dessins du Goscinny ajoute une autre dimension à l'écriture du Sempre.

I was introduced to the Petit Nicolas stories in high school and I love them. They're very funny as well as surprisingly intelligent and it has a sweetness that isn't too saccharine. The french is simple enough for beginners. The stories are intended for children but adults who snub Petit Nicolas simply because it is children's literature are missing a lot.Book Review: Adorable and Educational
