Book Review: Argentina section adequate but Uruguay section terrible

I lived in Argentina for four months and brought this book with me. It worked out fine for Buenos Aires, where I lived. However, I had the Time Out Buenos Aires book too, which I used much more often. The Time Out book had much more original, less touristy places listed in it.
The Lonely Planet book wasn't awful I guess, and I did find a few things useful.
The real problem was when I took a five day trip to Uruguay and brought this book with me. The writers have very obviously never been to Uruguay. One town I read about in the book ended up being completely closed down. The book had not mentioned that in the off season the town is a ghost town with all of the hotels and restaurants closed.
As for food, every restaurant in the Uruguay section had a vague description. Something like: "it has a variety of choices". Obviously they had not eaten at any of the restaurants because all of the food from the recommended restaurants was terrible!
So I would think a better book could be found. And now Time Out has a book for Argentina and Uruguay. If I was going to buy a book I would definitely go for that one.
