This is a great book if you have ever been to Hawaii or plan to go.This book will tell you what beaches to go to, stores, restaurants ect. Great info on things like traveling with disabilities. History, farmers markets.
You will see fruits you might not have seen before. Remember you usually can't bring them back so enjoy them there. I can't wait to go back with this book. I missed a lot.

While I cannot field-test this guide yet, since no budget for a trip to Hawaii, I do wish I had it many years ago when I visited the Big Island. This guide has a lot of up to date detail on shops, restaurants, places to go, interspersed with color photos, all in a compact size. I can't wait to field-test this guide in a few years. I'm amazed at the amount of information they're able to pack into this handy sized book. Every page is packed with detailed descriptions of where to go, what do do, where to eat and where to stay. Guide is well layed out and filled with excellent pictures and graphics.
A very high quality travel guide that's well worth the money.

Lonely Planet consistently do a stellar job with their travel guides, and this new volume on Hawai'i (the big island) is no different. It gives a great mix of stories, trip ideas and excellent information on so many places on the island. Plus the book looks great, which will make you all the more excited for that trip!Book Review: spot on- with little hype or promotion

One thing that they didn't mention was to find someone with a fisherman in the family and buy fresh fish for dinner. Ono is fabulous on the grill. Other than that little oversight, carried this little book all over the big island, and found the reviews accurate and insightful. Thanks girls! Great trip, best investment under 20 bucks, kept us from wasting time and money. If you like music, wood working or just eclectic things check out the Ukelele Museum, and talk to Mr Rosen, ask to see inside his shop where the magic happens.
