Book Review: Really Disappointing

I've used Lonely Planet guidebooks a handful of times in the past, and though I'm not the biggest fan, they're generally pretty reliable and helpful. This guidebook is quite the opposite. So far, I've only used it in Ho Chi Minh City, and it's been worse than useless. Some of the suggestions are helpful, but often, the information is just flat out wrong. Addresses and phone numbers for a handful of their recommendations are incorrect and in fact sent us in the wrong direction entirely. Other times, the suggestions don't exist at all. I understand that things may change quickly in this city, but this book isn't particularly old, and the restaurants and other sites for which it had incorrect information clearly predate the publication of this book. So whatever you do, don't buy this book.
