Book Reviews of Love the One You're WithBook Review: Love the One You're With Summary: 3 Stars
Ellen Dempsey runs into her ex, Leo, on the streets of downtown New York and it throws her into a tizzy. She is happily married, or so she thought until seeing her former flame again. His appearance makes her question her marriage, her love, and her life.
Andy, a good man, who treats Ellen well, is not just her husband, but her best friend's brother. When Ellen starts questioning things about her marriage, she turns to her best friend, Margot. The family loves her, but the pull of her ex just keeps tugging on her. Ellen tries to talk to Margot, but gets no sympathy. Instead, she has to struggle through her feelings and decide if she made the right decision when she let Leo go.
The entire story is about Ellen's struggle and it's hard to read a book about what should be a simple decision for a happily married woman. When her indecision begins to affect her marriage, there's not a lot of sympathy for her since she is doing this to herself. While many women will recognize themselves in the over-thinking and constant questioning Ellen goes through, it will likely annoy many others. If you enjoy reading about the problems many women experience at one point or another, this may be a good book for you

Book Review: Not "In Love," Just "In Like" Summary: 3 Stars
I didn't love this book, and I didn't hate this book. It was just so-so. My mom suggested I read it because it was a "light read" and I'd probably "finish in 2 days." I was waiting for another book I had bought on Amazon and had a few days to kill, so why not? It wasn't bad..... a little dull to be honest. I found myself almost wishing that Ellen would just go ahead and have a full fledged affair with Leo just to add a little UMPH into the storyline. Andy sounds like a dream come true....... and incredibly boring. I had a hard time trying to figure out who the author actually wanted us to root for because to be honest, I was kind of on Leo's side, although I feel that I should have been pulling for Andy. Either way - it's an easy read - a good beach read - but nothing special. I plan to read Something Borrowed and Something Blue because I heard those are much better than this one. I enjoyed Giffin's style of writing, I just didn't think this storyline was particularly interesting.... or maybe it was.... but it just left me wanting a little more.
Book Review: Emily Giffin doesn't disappoint! Summary: 5 Stars
Before reading "Love the one you're with" I had read Emily Giffin's "Baby Proof" and couldn't put it down! Even though I couldn't even personally relate to the main female character in "Baby Proof" I came to love her and feel like I knew her so well because Emily's writing is so fresh and real! "Love the one you're with" held up to my expectations. I couldn't put it down and the ending to this book was PERFECT! She wrapped everything up so well and the ending was so touching it brought tears to my eyes. She is now one of my favorite authors and I'm going to order her other two books as well as pre-order her book "Heart of the matter".
Book Review: Never Finished - Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I've read the author's three previous books and really enjoyed them all. However, with this book I've been quite disappointed and I just can't get into it. I bought it when it first came out in paperback and I've put it down so many times over the course of eight months that I should probably start over. I read about 80% of the book and I just can't get myself to the end.
