Next, Maione discusses installation and configuration in depth, with information on driver configuration, upgrades, and un- installation. Then he includes a critical chapter on managing resources, dealing with users, profiles, sharing permissions, and printer configuration.

The fourth chapter--titled "Connectivity"--addresses protocols, network-resource naming, configuration with NetWare networks, dial-up networking, and Web-server installation. The fifth chapter discusses application execution within the NT operating system, and the sixth the tools and techniques you need to monitor and optimize your NT configuration. The "Troubleshooting" chapter instructs you in dealing with boot, print job, installation, and application failures, as well as how to modify the System Registry.
