Book Reviews of Mac OS X Tiger: Missing Manual

Book Review: What should have shipped with Mac OS X
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased an older iMac G4 (iLamp) so I could get my bearings with the Mac. I have never owned a Mac and my time on the OS has been very limited, thus I needed a resource to guide me through some of the details of moving around the OS. This book has definitely fit the bill. It is well written and very detailed. It provides more than enough information to get your system configured and running smoothly. More importantly it gets you comfortable with the OS, which is extremely hard to do in a book. This book, however, does just that!

Book Review: A true Super Classic
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are a MacOS X owner and user it will be a criminal act of unforgivable consequences not to own this treasure of totally practical info. But this is not a book for total beginners. This Manual belongs to the really intelligent.I guess you are not stupid if you are an Apple Inc. fan but thats not enough in this case. All you have to do is read and practise! Tiger's knowledge is imperative, especially now when Jobs moves faster than ever into the silicon jungle to encounter more demanding animals of the mind.

Book Review: Where would we be without Maestro Pogue?
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are like me, you have been relying on David Poque's indefatigable good humor and endless technical skills since the original Dummie's books, to keep up to speed on the latest Mac operating system, and to answer every imaginable question. In the old days these books were invaluable. Today they are indepensible: as the Mac OSX 10.4 has grown in complexity, it is simply impossible to get the best from one's Mac with out David Poque as one's fearless and faithful guide.
Thank you once again David!!

Book Review: Best of the OS X Tiger Books
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought David Pogue's OS X Tiger Manual, and Andy Ihnatko's OS X Tiger Book at the same time. At first I read Ihnatko's book because it was so entertaining. Unfortunately the content in Ihnatko's book was minimal, and I was forced to go to Pogue's book. What a great book! Useful stuff on almost every page! (I put stars and comments in the top corners of pages that I think I will want to return to - over half of the pages in Pogue's book have stars and comments!)

Book Review: The Best Mac Books
Summary: 5 Stars

I consider The Missing Manual series of books for Mac to be an invaluable asset. I keep them close at hand at all times. I have yet to run into a problem that a can't find a solution for in one of these books. Besides that, they are just a great source for expanding one's knowledge of all the subjects they cover. They are an easy read and speak in terms that can be easily understood no matter what level of expertise you may be at from beginner on up.
