Book Review: This ones a keeper Summary: 5 Stars
This book is an extensive collection of the best baking recipes from Martha Stewart. It's definitely not the kind of cookbook you use once and then put away for months. It's got the usual recipes, but some very unique ones as well. Its my go-to book for baking anything. It may not be for the baker that doesn't mind using store bought cookie dough, but there are some easy ways to bybass the time-consuming parts - like buying frozen puff pastry dough for example. I'd recommend it to anyone who truly enjoys the entire baking process.
Book Review: Fun Fun Fun :-() Summary: 5 Stars
I've never wanted to spend so much time in the kitchen, but when I got this book, I wanted to jump right in and start straight away. It's filled with great ideas and recipes and lots of useful and helpful information. The pictures look great, and some of the cakes I've made look a little close to them. This is one of the best baking books I own and I can't wait to get back in the kitchen. It's nice having friends ask me for recipes of things I've made. Just a note of caution; don't put on weight with all these goodies.
Book Review: I wish all cook books would be as illustrated as Martha's Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this for Christmas and I already am loving it. It's full of beautifully taken photographs of just about every recipe that is included in the book and even all the tools and equipment you would need. And I don't know about you, but I certainly like to see pictures of what I am making. All the advice about the tools needed was great and Martha's great tips with every recipe and even variations you can do to some of them are helpful and fun. If I hadn't gotten it as a gift I would have most certainly bought it.
Book Review: Good, but there are problems Summary: 4 Stars
I have had this book for a year now and have made a few dozen recipes out of it. Overall they have been good ones and the book is full of good information on the hows and whys of baking. That said, I have had trouble with a couple of the recipes being not completely correct. In one case, the proportions for making a strusel topping were off, resulting in a too dry topping. The other calls for an ungreased baking pan, causing the bars I was making to stick terribly. Not huge issues, granted, but annoying none the less.
