Bought this book because I wanted to learn the capabilities of the D700 before investing the sizeable chunk of dollars. The book answers everything I wanted to know and will be invaluable as my skills with the camera increase. Would recommend anyone that has a D700 or is considering the purchase of one spends the minor amount of money and buys this book. There are quite a few D700 user guides on the market. I wanted one that would give me an authors personal experience and evaluation of the camera. This one came the closest to not being another "owners manual" type affair.
The authors go into deeper deatail on the cameras options and capabilities than other guides. It's worth the money if you want a better understanding of this very complex camera.

Helpful hand-book incorporates greatly with the user's manual. Make no mistakes, there is no mastering info listed there. It just makes the manual understand easier. Screen shots are great for navigating. Mastering is something you have to make out of using the camera and manual frequently. The camera it self is The Master. This book is easy to follow and is much better and more comprehensive than the manual. It not only covers the D700 features, but explains how, why and when to use them. It is written by professional photographers who actually use this camera. This book in conjunction with the manual makes using this camera a lot easier. Without the book one tends to be lazy and use it like a point and shoot instead of what it was intended.Great book with excellent suggestions I have been able to use immediately as I learn how to take pictures that are beyond my typical JPEG photos.
