Book Review: Clarification

I haven't actually read the book, but I've read all the reviews and I would like to share some of my thoughts with everyone. First of all, most of the reviews do not actually rate the book but rather the credibility of Amazon's suggestions. THAT IS NOT THE POINT OF POSTING A COMMENT! Now anyone actually interested in buying the book does not know how good it is. (Having said that, I know I'm being a hypocrite, but I feel that it's important to get my message out there - and also balance out this book's score slightly - and this is the only way) All those people who criticize Amazon fail to realize that Amazon simply compiles people's purchasing patterns and displays them with each book listing. Amazon is not lying to anyone. Their suggestions say nothing about how good the book is or how much alike two books are, they're simply stating that people who bought book X also bought book Y. You're left to make your own conclusions. Do you think that they have actual people reading every book they sell and coming up with these suggestions? IT'S A COMPUTER BASED ALGORYTHM. Early on, a bunch of morons who couldn't possibly fathom the odds of there being more than one author named Dan Brown bought this book, Amazon collected that information and when compiled came up with the conclusion that people who buy DaVinci Code (or whatever other Dan Brown book) also bought this book, WHICH BY THE WAY IS TRUE! What gets to me is that all those people who complain about the system actually CONTRIBUTED to those statistics. I suggest that people think twice before they voice their opinions on issues they clearly do not understand. I also suggest to those actually interested in reading this book to only consider comments made by people who've read the book and made no mention of Amazon's 'bad advertising' or the other Dan Brown and how much unlike his other books this one is.
