Book Reviews of Miami Spice: The New Florida CuisineBook Review: Fantastic cookbook! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this cookbook for a friend. My copy is well used already and is one of my favorites. I haven't made a recipe in it that we didn't just love. Some of the recipes are now standard company fare in our house, especially the whole grilled beef tenderloin with fire and spice and the black bean salad with mangos and shrimp. There's a lot of fun background information to read about the different ingredients and recipes, too. An excellent cookbook - highly recommended!
Book Review: Great southern Florida cookbook Summary: 5 Stars
I gave my copy away to someone moving to south Florida, and immediately ordered a new one for myself. I love this book. It has great recipes and little tidbits of information on Florida. The recipes are easy to follow. I take it with me when I go there. Some of the items needed are hard to find in places other than Florida, but you can always substitute. This is one of the few cookbooks that I love that has no photos.
Book Review: Fascinating look at Florida and Cuban Cuisine Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for two reasons; I love to cook and I want to learn how to cook "Caribbean". Text is excellent, particularly dish descriptions. Also, the whats and wheres of the ingredients is great reading and really adds to the enjoyment of this cuisine. Have tried a dozen or so dishes so far and they're all excellent. Can't wait to try more. I highly recommend this for lovers of tropical cooking..
Book Review: Flavorful food that is simple to make Summary: 5 Stars
This cookbook is just fantastic. It contains a broad range of recipes inspired by the flavors of Miami, from cocktails to deserts. The instructions are clearly written. Most dishes take only a short time to prepare and all of the results have been great. This book is for people who love richly flavored food but do not want to spend their entire day preparing it.
Book Review: It's real, and real good. Summary: 5 Stars
The stunning chimichurri recipe alone makes this book worth buying. This trendy dish is showing up on menus around the country, but I've never had one better than this. Every time I've made it, folks have howled for the recipe. Plenty of other great and simple dishes, from adobo to fried garlic sauce to tangerine tuna.
