Book Review: Not enough detail for small roads

We used this map for our travels in the Languedoc region of France. The map does not have the necessary details for the small roads in the rural areas nor the roads for getting through villages.
The map makes it look like you can just drive right through a village on the road when in reality you often have to take many turns and there are no obvious signs to navigate through a village and come back out on the same road.
More important, however, are the many missing roads - roads that exist but are not shown on the map in the rural areas. Many small paved roads are available in rural areas, but they are not shown on the map. This proved to be a real problem when trying to reach villages that were shown on the map but for which no road is indicated for getting to the village! This was also a problem when trying to reach sites, like Peyrepertuse, which is shown on the map but without any road shown leading to it.
We gave up using the map and relied on our IPhone mapping device which cleary indicated the small roads we needed to get to various villages and sites. Thanks to the great cell phone coverage we were able to use almost 100% of the time.
