Book Reviews of Midnight Rising (The Midnight Breed, Book 4)Book Review: Best Book Yet! Summary: 5 Stars
[Warning Spoilers] I finished this book in one night, I could not put it down. I cannot wait for her newest installment in December 2008. Wow she really kept it going with this one and left a great leg for next time. This book really made me think about the future for this series. OMG it was great!!!
Dylan Alexander is off taking a trip in her mother's stead. She stumbles upon a mysterious cave, with Rio inside. Things really light up the pages as these two go at it. I loved the fact that when her mother was dying, she turned to Rio for support and he is there for her. It was a very emotional part in the book that I really felt. The only problem I had was that Dyland and Rio got together in apartment he formerly had with his wife, without taking anything down first. Yes, Dylan was not expecting to fall for Rio. But it struck me as odd.
The other unexpected turn for me in this book, is the feel for the monster, Dragos, that is being held hostage by his grandson. I know that he is very out of control and animalistic, but in a way I really felt for him, because of the way he is being held and forced. It will be interesting to see if Lara can help him or is forced to destroy him. Can she turn the savage beast into a man? Can't wait for the next book to find out more.
Book Review: Rio - The man of the hour :) Summary: 5 Stars
This book was wonderful. I finished it in a matter of days. This is the 4th book of the breed series and I couldnt be happier with it. She truly did justice for Rio.
Now if you havent read any of the breed series you dont need to read the others to understand but frankly it helps a lot to understand the whole picture, Marek is talked about and the mission of the breed is also still there with much action and as to what happen with what was in that tomb!
Rio in the last book was left to blow up the cave where the tomb was, but after months he still hasnt done it. He is on the brink of madness when Dylan comes upon the cave.
Dylan is a breedmate and has the gift of seeing ghost. More specifically other breedmate's ghosts.
She is a wonderful counter for Rio, she is strong willed, feisty and full of life, just what Rio needs after the hell he has been thru.
Eva and the blast totally destroyed Rio, Eva having shattered his trust for humanity and himself Dylan changes that and makes him see he isnt the monster he believes to be.
I gave this book 5 stars it was such a wonderful book and I was so thrilled to see Rio have his happy ending so well :)
Book Review: All I can say is wow! Summary: 5 Stars
I didn't think the author could top the last book but she definitely did! This book is so great because the Breed warrior Rio is such a damaged and tormented soul on the brink of killing himself. It's great to watch as Dylan Alexander brings him out of his own personal hell and back to that land of the living. Their relationship starts off rocky because Rio has to kidnap Dylan and bring her back to the Breed headquarters because of some pictures that she took of him and the hibernation cave. Dylan should be frightened out this huge, disfigured man but she is intrigued by him and wants to know all about him. Rio is attracted to Dylan but has so many trust and anger issues that he must overcome. It's great to watch Rio let his guard down as he gets to know Dylan. The hibernation chamber that was mentioned in the last book is brought up again and we have glimpses into where the Ancient is being held and what he is being made to do. There is definitely a new enemy and another war on the horizon. I'm looking forward to where the plot will go from here. I really do not know how the author can top this book, but hopefully she will.
Book Review: Wonderful tortured hero! Summary: 4 Stars
I've been looking forward to this one since book 1!
This is Rio's story, and for a girl who loves a tortured hero, Rio's story did not disappoint!
Rio was almost killed in an explosion that left him badly scarred emotionally and physically. He has sequestered himself inside a cave and is contemplating suicide when Dylan "happens" upon the cave. After being betrayed by his former breedmate (now deceased), he is leary of females and especially of love.
Dylan was a tough character, and to be honest, I struggled to like her character until the last part of the book. She ends up being a perfect match for Rio, so I was able to let go of my first negative impressions of her.
This is a very fast moving book. I finished it very quickly. The action is intense, the villain is deplorable, and the ending leaves lots unsettled within this world. Rio and Dylan's romance does take the main stage (which I appreciate) and their love scenes are terrific and very hot!
I really love this series and this was a great addition.
Book Review: Pulled My Heartstrings Summary: 5 Stars
I was totally blown away at how good this book was. Wasn't expecting much from the previouse reviews, but this was awesome. It starts off slow, although I think her books tend to do that, but then WOW. Some people stated they thought their relationship just started off to quick. Disagree. Dylan is thrust into this situation that is scarey and diffrent, but she can't help feeling this odd attraction to this man who has kidnapped her.
She is desprate to get home to her mom who is dying of cancer and the emotional interaction between her mom, oh man, very good.
Rio is a wounded man inside and out. Ava his breedmate who betrayed him in the first book is still unsure he even wants to live anymore because he feels so messed up. He meets Dylan who changes his views, but he fights his attraction because he feels he is to raw for someone like her.
But with her gentle love he finally realizes he is worth being loved. Couple good love scences to add to the mix was good and hot.
Overall a very good book, give it a chance it will be definatly worth it.
