Book Reviews of Midnight Rising (The Midnight Breed, Book 4)Book Review: The Breeds are on fire! Summary: 5 Stars
The Midnight Breeds has become my latest addiction.
Lara Adrian is just fabulous! And to think, had my friend not recommended her, I'd be missing out!
From the very first book (Kiss of Midnight) I was intrigued by Rio, and wondered how he could overcome that brutal betrayal he had suffered.
I knew he'd be a tortured hero, and he was.
Lara pulled it off fabulously.
I still like Tegan's story the best, but Rio's isn't far behind.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
December can't come soon enough!
As with any paranormal romance series, I always suggest to start a new series with an open mind, and not compare it to other series. You'll enjoy it much better that way IMO.
Book Review: Not bad weekend read Summary: 3 Stars
This is the 4th book in the Midnight Breed series. I liked book 3 with Tegan the best. This story was about Rio after his earlier betrayal from his Breedmate in the previous book. I thought this was book was just okay. I think it needed to be 2 chapters longer. 1 more chapter describing Rio's decent into madness. I felt that was touched on too quickly. Also him Dylan and him falling in love. I thought her acceptance of him was too quick, which is a familiar weakness in these types of boats. Overall it was a good book in the entire scope of the series. More predictable than most. I am curious to see if the writer reaches the previous level of greatness I thought was found with Book 3.
Book Review: The Midnight Breed, Book 4, "Midnight Rising" Summary: 5 Stars
I love all the books in this series. The characters are vivid and the "world" they inhabit is so like our own, and yet bleeds over into the fantastic with nary a telltale line. "Dermaglyphs", "Ancient Ones", vampires as a remnant of an alien race...and with all the books, you meet in depth a few more characters in the series, and learn what makes them tick, vampire or human or alien. If you enjoy a society where "alpha" males cherish and protect and bond with their women; where epic battles are fought with supernatural abilities, and where honor, courage and love are the inherent values...not to mention some really great erotic scenes...you'll like the Breed!
Book Review: Dylan is Vile! Summary: 5 Stars
Dylan is a washed up tabloid journalist. And when she worked in serious news journalism she victimised a completely innocent person. That's in the novel. How does someone like that get to be the heroine in a romance? Most of the time she is only thinking of the wealth and fame publishing her vampire story will bring her. That's in the novel too. But after she experiences the luxury of the Darkhaven...ooo..she falls 'in love' with her intended mark. Yeah. Like.
Sorry. Another spoiled series as far as I'm concerned.
I gave it five stars to avoid censorship since it's a recently published novel.
Book Review: Great series Summary: 5 Stars
I have become hooked on this series. The characters are described in such detail you seem to know them and want to know all about there past and present lives. Each book takes a different warrior and lets you in on their life but still incorporates your favorite past warriors enough to satisfy the "what is Tegan doing now" questions. The most interesting thing about these books is the way the author describes the scents of each warriors love interest. I don't know why I find this intriguing maybe because scent can play a big part in your life like when you remember your mother's perfume.
