Book Review: A must have for the ER/Urgent Care Provider

This book is a true gem! Buttaravoli has clearly presented his distillation of experience and research into the diagnosis and treatment of the most common minor emergencies encountered by primary care providers. I work as a PA in an Urgent Care/Occupational Medicine setting and find that I frequently refer to this book. I read it cover to cover, and it was a joy to read, being clearly written and very well illustrated in short, problem-oriented chapters. It makes a great quick reference, as the organization is simple and to the point. For each problem there is a brief introduction describing the typical patient presentation, followed by a "What To Do" section, as well as a "What Not To Do" section. Further elaboration on pathophysiology and the basic science is offered at the end of each chapter for those who wish to explore further. It is very well indexed and includes helpful appendices on such topics as performing digital and oral nerve blocks, procedural sedation and analgesia, and rabies prophylaxis. I carry this book in my bag from clinic to clinic. Thank you Dr. Buttaravoli, your book is Highly Recommended!
