Book Reviews of Miss RumphiusBook Review: gorgeous Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a classic for a very good reason. The story is powerful and moving and the illustrations are gorgeous. I always think of this book when I go up to Bar Harbor every summer for vacation. As a child it made me want to sow lupines everywhere.
Book Review: Lovely, lovely, lovely Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best children's stories ever written! Gorgeous illustrations, and a message for all children. I cannot recommend it enough! And it's a good read - more of a girl's story than a boys - but who's asking these days?! Read it, you'll love it.
Book Review: It is simply wonderful story Summary: 5 Stars
I have an 8 yr. old and once she was finished reading her book; she wanted to go and buy some of those lupines seeds. She wanted to do the same as Miss. Rumphius. Of course, How could I tell her? Those seeds could not grow here in Florida...
Book Review: OK Summary: 3 Stars
Beautiful illustrations! But the story in itself is a little bland. Sure, Alice Rumphius is very noble and ends up following her heart and listening to her grandfather, but... Somehow i was left wishing for more. Maybe some drama?
Book Review: This is one of my favorites Summary: 5 Stars
There is a handful of books that I have gotten my children that I will keep forever, and this is one of them. It is a sweet, meaningful story of beauty, and a well-lived life. I am on my way to buying more of Cooney's books.
