Book Reviews of More-With-Less CookbookBook Review: If the house were on fire. . . Summary: 5 Stars
this would be the one book I would grab on the way out the door. I wish I'd known of it when I was a young bride. I've given it to many people. Besides recipes, it is a way of life. "Gathering Up the Fragments" is a part of each section which teaches cooks how to diversify resources and feed more with less. A classic.
Book Review: Great for Large Families Summary: 5 Stars
I find my family large and growing. It is expensive to raise a large family in today's society. Thankfully this book has been a saving grace. The recipes are tastey. I have learned to cook for my family while staying on a budget. It is one of my most referred to books in the kitchen. A must have for every family kitchen!
Book Review: Wise use of food products Summary: 5 Stars
This cookbook introduced me to the concept of formulating complete proteins using only plant products. It also charts caloric intake needs for people of various ages. This helped my family budget by reducing our costs for meat products. The oatmeal cake recipe is an oatmeal based sweet treat that everyone will love.
Book Review: 3 years of More with Less Summary: 5 Stars
I thank my mom and this book for providing my sisters, father, and me with sustinence during our 3 years of missionary service in Jamaica. Although today I have access to every type of food from around the world, this was a lifeline to my family when we were effected by shortages and sanctions on the island.
Book Review: Great Frugal Resource Summary: 4 Stars
I think M-W-L was more revolutionary when it was first published, but it remains a great resource for anyone wanting to cook and eat more frugally. Other cookbooks might provide similar recipes, but M-W-L also contains much commentary and suggestions for general practices (in addition to great recipes).
