Book Reviews of Motor Mouth (Alex Barnaby Series #2)Book Review: Fun to read, light-hearted romp or Life with Beans Summary: 4 Stars
If you enjoy reading the Plum series, you will find this book light and fun to read. The dialogue is not quite as snappy nor are the characters as colorful, but you can get carried away on the flow of the words and the changes of scenery. I could picture South Beach, the yacht, the luxury hotels and the concierge of "The Pearl." I loved Beans and Itzy-Poo. Actions involving the exploits of Beans are laugh-out-loud entertainment. Sure it isn't Stephanie Plum and LuLu and don't read it expecting it to be so. This is a diversion for Evanovich and I'm sure she enjoyed writing it as much as I enjoyed reading it. Spend a few quiet hours in your recliner with a Lite beer or iced tea and chill!
Book Review: Janet Evanowich has done it again. Summary: 4 Stars
I am a huge fan of Janet Evanowich and her Stefanie Plum novels. I was concerned that her Metro Girl & Motor Mouth series would not live up to my expectations. I was wrong! Alex Barnaby is a fun character and her story line is a typical Evanowich - crazy with turns and twists. Just like Bob in the Stephanie Plum novels, we get to meet Beans the hairy beast. This is a quick read and very light hearted. I bought this series for my sister at Christmas, and I'm sure she'll love it. Happy Reading!
Book Review: I liked it but it was way over the top... Summary: 3 Stars
I really enjoyed the first book (Metro Girl) in this 2 book series & I enjoyed this one as well but not as much. Everybody in this book gave me so many laughs but I found much of the book to be way over the top. There were just too many killings & many of them strange. Barney & Hooker & everyone else involved were just way too calm & then the stuff they would do was just too much. Unrealistic.
Overall I enjoyed this series & I'm glad that I read it. I would recommend this series.
Book Review: Should be retitled... Summary: 3 Stars
This novel should be retitled "Potty Mouth" because of the profanity. Evanovich can be very funny and I love her book on tape reader, C. J. Critt, but a little profanity goes a lonnnnng way. Why not write the novel without the profanity since we hear enough of it in our society now? Escapism is all it's cracked up to be and I would love to see Evanovich write a profanity-free funny book I could escape into. How about it, Janet?
Book Review: Easy Reading, but not too good Summary: 1 Stars
I have never read this author before, and I don't think that I will read another, the story dragged, the characters are not smart, not at one time did I find it funny (although I had no idea what to expect). Someone lent me the book, and I read it and it kept me interested...sorta, but I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, go with Jayne Krentz or Nora Roberts, or even JR Ward....guess I don't like this genre?
