Book Reviews of NLP: The New Technology of AchievementBook Review: Great book Summary: 5 Stars
For the last 12 or 15 years I have been a keen reader of Self-help,
self improvement books, ranging from Selfhypnosis, creative visualization and
meditation. This one is far the best I have ever read. After
the short introduction, the rest of the book takes you through
the basics of NLP. Each chapter is covered by excercises that
with their implementation convinces even the sceptic, that NLP
truely is the New Technology of Achievement. It's not just a
book to be read, but a book to be experienced. The impact of
the excercises will fast benefit in all aspects of ones life.
Dont just read it, TRY IT.
Book Review: Great book. Must have for self improvement Summary: 5 Stars
This book, along with several others in the subject, has changed my life. It explains why we feel the way we do, tells a lot about human interaction and gives us ways to overcome our problems. I agree with other reviewers that you need to follow all exercises. The more you put in, the more you will get out of this book. Don't just simply read and move on, but practice, reread and study the book, it just gets deeper as you go!
Some others claim that this book just scratches the surface of NLP. If that is true, I can't wait to learn more about it.
Book Review: Best NLP book for recommended readings in training Summary: 5 Stars
NLP is the study of excellence and the technology of achievement and success. NLP is a wonderful model to enhance communication, personal change and personal development. The way you think affects the internal and external language and the actions you take. This in turn affects the way you behave and the reactions you get. I have used NLP techniques while training meirc participants on all subjects in dubai seminars and it is certainly as defined "The difference that makes the difference". Learn it, use it and develop it, the results keep getting better and better.
Book Review: Some nuggets of gold amidst a sea of New Age hype Summary: 3 Stars
This book has some valuable sections burried in a morass of New Age hype and cheerleading. I think it was the text for a series of tapes published by Conant. There is a lot of fluff, and the whole book probably could have been condensed into about 100 pages. Some of the examples are a bit far fetched. Why would I want to model myself on someone who spurns human society and lives to be a dog sled racer in Alaska? Oh, I guess she was following her bliss and we all should do that to fully realize ourselves and reach our highest potential. Blah, blah, blah, etc.!
Book Review: Nothing new or technological Summary: 2 Stars
This book was extremely disappointing. Based on the semantic hype, I really expected to read something insightful about human behavior/psychology. The book Psychocybernetics written ~35 years ago says virtually the same thing-only withou the naive 'we've got the answer' tone. There is really nothing new in this book or anything even close to being a "technology" as the subtitle claims. Just a lot of classic, tired, positive-visualization exercises with a healthy helping of low-level psychobabble masquerading as a new `breakthrough'.
