Neon Genesis Evangelion:If you like sadness, comedy, really cool robots, high-quality drawings and very good characters, this is the series for you!
The story: Shinji Ikari is summoned to NERV headquarters, a research organization. When he arrives, he finds out he has to run one of the robots, Unit- 01, to protect the city from monsters they call "Angels".
The main reason I liked this series is because the characters are really great. When I read a book, and the characters stink, I really don't get much out of it. When, like in Neon Genesis Evangelion, the characters are great, it really makes the story better.
There are 6 volumes in this series, so far. It isn't finished yet. I want the next to come out so badly!
This is a series that you should definitely consider buying.

This is the start of a totally great manga and anime series. If u are serious about your manga's and anime's, I seriously suggest u read Neon Genesis Evangelion. It is about a 14-yr-old boy in the future who has never know his father and his mother is dead and he is living with his aunt and uncle. Suddenly out of nowhere, he gets a postcard from his dad saying that he needs him. He goes to the place to were he needs to meet him. Thinking to himself y his father, after so many years, needs him and for wut reason. I don't want to waste the rest of the story, because that is when u come in. Humor (tones of it!), romance (some), action (u can say that again),... Hope this helps! ^_^Book Review: Epic storyline and fantastic art

Vol. #1 of the Neon Genesis Evanelion series starts off with a bang as teenager Shinji Ikari finds himself swept into the midst of an epic battle with the fate of humanity hanging on its outcome. Fans of the animated series will love the additional detail offered within these manga pages and those who haven't yet seen the televised versions will find this first volume a terrific way to get aquainted with the series.Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's artwork is first rate stuff with every panel packed with oodels of graphic detail. The pacing of the overall storyline is also well done as most readers will no doubt breeze effortlessly through all 176 action packed pages.

What do you do with to one othe the best anime series of the decade? Turn it into manga! I don't care if you like anime and manga or not...READ it! The art throughout the book is excelent, and the EVA/Angel battles are riveting. Shinji is less a whiny wimp in the 1st volumn of the manga than he is in the first episode of the anime. A definite plus. So go out into the world, and buy the book, and then the second, and so on until you spend all your money until you realize that you're flat broke, without out a home, and all you have left is your Evangelion tapes and books. Then go to your friend's house and watch 'em all again and read your manga.Book Review: Neon Genisis

Are you bored of looking at tiring anime? well I was until I luckily stumbled upon this book. Neon Genesis Evangelion is definatly a mixture of origonality and pure genius. All you thrill seakers in the anime world this is your exit have a pit stop in the world where angel's the distroyers of our world are over come by the infamous evangelions extreamly advanced technological robots made to syncronize with teen agers to save the human race. If any more is told then you would be mad at me after reading the first book but don't think I told you all of the first book I just told you .001% of it.
