Book Review: Feehan's back to being great...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to agree with the others in saying that this 3rd installment of the GhostWalker series is the best! I love Christine Feehan, but I hate to say that I'm a little disappointed in her most recent Carpathians. Thank goodness her mediocre books still make most authors efforts seem lacking in some way. She's still an auto buy, but they are defiantly collecting a bit of dust lately by the time I grab them off my TBR shelf. But, low and behold, these GhostWalkers have me panting in anticipation for sequels. The Bayou setting was awesome, in fact now I need to read my latest Sandra Hill, "Red Hot Cajun." (Those are Hot, Hot, Hot and so funny!). I feel like I can't say much as not to give anything away. So, I'll sum it up by saying the villains were numerous and had me on the edge, the GhostWalkers past and future are awesome, the romance was HOT! But what I truly loved was Gator's charm, which never gets boring and Flame's responses..."you are such a freaking perv." They are so funny together! This book really focuses on a true romantic love where they have to learn to do the unthinkable in their world, trust. And later have to over come the worst, a betrayal. Not to mention Flames medical condition. This series is definitely exceeding my expectations. I'm thrilled because I was starting to fear that Feehan might be spreading herself too thin with all of the series' she's trying to keep going, and that I might be losing a favorite. I'd be happy if she put all her efforts into this series for a while and go back to writing Great stories. This is definitely one to read and savor, I promise you!

Book Review: Night Game
Summary: 4 Stars

Since Mind Game, the Ghostwalkers have teamed with Lily, Dr. Whitney's "daughter", or more accurately one of the girls who survived the experiments done on her, her sisters, and the men who are the Ghostwalkers, to rescue the other girls. In Shadow Game, Dahlia was rescued. Now, it's Iris, aka, Flame's, turn. Of the three girls, she might be the biggest challenge. Flame has no love for Lily, the favored child, and feels betrayed. Her desire for revenge combined with her psionic abilities makes her deadly, therefore only the best can go after her, and that means Raoul "Gator" Fontenot. Like Flame, he has talents ordinary people do not. Time is not on Gator's side; someone else is after Flame, and there is a chance that a timebomb is ticking inside of the young woman. She was given cancer and cured of it multiple times as a child, and there is a good chance it will come back, but there will be no one to stop the disease unless he finds her before it does. Once he finds her, making her trust him is the next mountain to overcome, and possibly the hardest. Gator has been betrayed, so he can empathize. The two are matched in pain and paranormal gifts, but it will be their hearts, not minds, that give them strength to survive.

Ms. Feehan's own gifts are clearly displayed here. Night Game boasts a cast of characters that is quirky and intriguing, but is action packed enough to satisfy the less romantic reader. This story manages to both be imaginative, yet grounded in reality, making it seem plausible.

Book Review: Hot, super spicy story...
Summary: 5 Stars

This was the first Christine Feehan book I have ever read. I wasn't disappointed.

This is one of a series of books in the Ghostwalker series. You can read this book out of order because it was a great stand-alone story on its own.

This story centers around Gator, one of a group of enhanced soldiers called The Ghostwalkers. The Ghostwalkers can communicate telepathically and each has a different power. Gator's power is the ability to use sound to either communicate, or to kill.

Gator is sent to find Flame, a genetically enhanced female enhanced from childhood on by the evil mastermind who created special abilities in several female children, keeping them in cages like lab rats. He also infected Flame with cancer then put her into remission (no worries - this isn't a spoiler, it's told in the beginning of the book). The power she has is also the ability to use sound. Flame is no fading violet. I really liked her strong character.

Gator does find Flame. They embark together on a journey against unspeakable evil. To say more would destroy the suspense.

The only negative for me, it might not be a negative to you, is that her intimate scenes were long and extremely intense - one spanned three chapters. There was another one near the end of the book that I paged past because it went on and on and on.

I borrowed this book from the library and am strongly considering buying a copy as a keeper for my own bookshelf.

Book Review: terrific paranormal Ghostwalker Game thriller
Summary: 5 Stars

Both genetically enhanced, Iris "Flame" Johnson and Gator Fontemont met when he rescued her. They are attracted to one another, but Gator has always been a lone ranger so he struggles with his need to be with her and Flame trusts no one. However, he learns she remains in danger from Dr. Peter Whitney, whom Gator thought dead (see SHADOW GAME); he willingly risks his life to keep her safe.

Realizing he is enhanced like her, Flame fears Gator plans to return her to the evil Whitney. She detests the fact that she cannot get him out of her mind as she feels an irresistible attraction to him that she assumes is just one more inbreeding mechanism devised by Whitney. She distrusts her growing love for Gator as much as she expects him to betray her. Together they might defeat their common enemy, but separately they will probably die or worse be re-imprisoned by Whitney that is if he is the cat chasing them.

The latest Ghostwalker Game thriller is a terrific paranormal entry because of the personalities of two loners, both ready to explode (especially the heroine) and neither easily trusting others particularly those who Whitney experimented on. The story line is action-packed never slowing down, but also has the haunting of Katrina as pre-hurricane New Orleans serves as the backdrop. Christine Feehan is on her A-game with her latest paranormal thriller.

Book Review: Strong addition to the Ghostwalker series
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been a fan of Christine Feehan's work since Dark Prince, with the notable exception of Ocean of Fire. I am pleased to say that this book is a strong addition to the GhostWalker series. I found some of the dialogue and interaction in the first chapter to be forced, but beginning with Chapter Two the book really hit its stride. Iris ("Flame") is a strong female character who is not waiting around for anyone to save her. She has led a life filled with betrayal and pain and is cautious who she opens herself to. Too often it seems that characters' misgivings and problems are cast aside and the reader is meant to believe they share an immediate love. Feehan avoided that trap and worked hard to build the relationship between Iris and her male counterpart Raoul ("Gator"). It made the story much more enjoyable and realistic (as realistic as a paranormal story about two enhanced people can be). While there were sex scenes in the book, they never overwhelmed the plot. Secondary characters added to the storyline and you cared about them, but they did not detract too much attention from the main characters.

I did not rate this story a five because of problems with first chapter and the repetition regarding Iris' lack of trust. I think all readers understood that she did not like Peter Whitney or anything/anyone he was involved with and after a time it became unnecessary to have Iris say it once again.
