Book Reviews of Night Huntress (Sisters of the Moon, Book 5)Book Review: Night Huntress (Sisters of the Moon, Book 5) Summary: 3 Stars
This is the continuing story of the D'Artigo sisters from Delilah's POV. Next one is told from Mennolly's perspective.
Of the three sisters, Delilah is 2d while Mennolly would be 1st. Camille is my least favorite.
Many reviewers have already listed most of the plot so I won't rehash it.
Just some comment on the characters/story development:
1. Re-read book 2 as the Chase/Delilah relationship actually begins from there.
- It's a Hypocritical story that Faes are non-monogamous which Delihah told Chase about but wants to keep it "open" but at least being honest and telling each other they're sleeping around!
- BY DEFAULT.. A NON-monogamous relationship means that the respective participants May or WILL BE seeing OTHER PEOPLE! PERIOD!
Too many darn female reviews are expressing their personal views that it's entirely Chase's fault when BOTH Delilah and Chase share the responsibilities of Screwing other people while in their relationship!
It doesn't matter if they sleep with other people as long as they tell each other! What BS!
Mennolly is the correct one that tries to look at BOTH sides and had Delilah wake up to the fact that Faes are not monogamous and that Chase may have issues being treated like a 2nd class citizen by the Non-FBHs!
(Love her honesty and bluntness unlike many people)!
Urban Fantasy (UF)...ahem... ROMANCE NOVEL.... readers are mainly FEMALE and will OBVIOUSLY side with the female characters (UF have strong female characters and males play secondary roles.... think maternalistic society).
I guess that those other female readers NEVER, EVER thought of "forgiveness" or the "golden rule" or "turn the other cheek".. considering that the ENTIRE love storyline of Faes is that Faes are NON-MONOGAMOUS by nature, though few Faes are monogamous, as mentioned throughout the series.
2. More action less sex... that's good! I skip the sex parts! Who need it?? Oops... female readers! Sorry! Romance novel!
3. Delilah still acts so ... naively, but is slowly maturing and hopefully will get a stomach for doing certain things like killing demons!
4. Hopefully the storyline will improve at a better pace. The ones with Camille's POV is rather slow at times.
5. Galenorn's writing isn't that bad but it needs to improve as it the writing style includes TOO MANY cliches and phrases that makes reading it terrible! Let's cut out the bad grammar and words (who really says "dude"? That's for the younger generation who doesn't know proper grammar!).
6. If it weren't for the storyline (it's about halfway already), I'd stop reading this series!
- Couldn't believe it's marked "urban fantasy" but found in the "romance novel" section of the bookstore!
- Remove the sex!
- It should be a fantasy adventure story with love story as side development for the characters instead of a love story with adventure.
Ignore the other female reviewers that write that they hate Chase!
Chase is not a bad character but not a good one either.
Sound like anyone we all know in true life? Who's perfect?!
Delilah forgave Chase but is hesitant, naturally, on their relationship. Chase appears to have learned from his ordeal and is willing to build their relationship.
Feel sorry for Zachary but he'll recovery. At least he's not dead or maimed!
This will turn into a trio love triangle similar to Camille's story!
Hopefully the storyline will improve along with the author's writing.
Reviewers should give a "neutral" review or close to an impartial one and stick with the storyline or author's writing style instead of imposing their darn personal view as a review!
Last note:
Received an email response from Tantor Media, in which they stated that they do not have any plans to make any future audiobooks of the "Sister of the Moon" series.
So unless otherwise stated somewhere, all future editions of the series will be in paper form (or most recently, also in Kindle format).
Ms. Galenorn should post info like this on her website!!
