Book Reviews of Nikon D200 Digital Field GuideBook Review: must have addition to manual Summary: 5 Stars
With an important shoot looming and the camera in shipping I was panicking. I received this book on Mon. Read furiously. Unpacked the camera Tues. evening and was on the shoot Wed. at 6AM. Backed it up the first day with film cameras. I got such good results that by Thurs. I had abandoned the film backup. This was all due to the answeres I got from this book every time I looked up something I didn't understand. The manual is thorough but in fine print and very complex. This book will give you a detailed overview in a logically organized manner.
Book Review: Total fluff Summary: 1 Stars
70% of this book has nothing to do with the D200 but is basic photography concepts instead. The small percentage that actually was about the D200 you can get from the owners manual. Nothing of use here unless you want a repeat of the owners manual and a bunch of basic photo tips. If you're not up on basic photography maybe it'd be good but most users of the D200 are beyond the basics before they purchase this type of camera. My advice is to wait for the Magic Lantern book on the D200. It wouldn't take much to be better than this one.
Book Review: Great book for starting in Nikon SLRs and digital world. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book if you are new to Digital photography or Nikon SLR cameras. D200 features are explained clearly with some tips on how and when to use them. All graphics are in large color and much easier to read and look at than the D200 manual that comes with the camera. Later chapters have good general photography tips. If you are new to Nikon SLRs or digital photography I recommend this book. If you are a professional and maybe already owned the D100 then you can most likely skip this book and stick to the D200 manual.
Book Review: Nikon D200 Digital Field Guide Summary: 5 Stars
Mr. Busch I have one word to describe your Field Guide..... Excellent!!! Throw away the useless Nikon manual and don't wait for the Magic Lantern Guide. It's clear, to the point with easy to understand explanations for an amature as myself and absent the usual technicial garbage you get from more expensive CDs. If your a pro, you should know this stuff already. If your new to the digital camera world, own this camera and want to know how it works,,,, Buy this You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!
Book Review: Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
I had always used the Magic Lantern books for specific cameras and when I bought my D-200 I tried to order the MAgic Lantern guide and it was not ready, it took until late october to ship. I ordered the Field Guide thinking it would tide me over until the other went to press and what I found was an all inclusive book that covered all of the bases. It is easy to follow and is presented in a logical order. I recomend this book highly for those who want to learn all there is to know about their d-200.
