This is a great book for us dummies who have a great camera and want to know how to use it. There are step by step instructions along with visuals that helped me to understand the various buttons and dials. It was so much fun to experiment with this great camera and really see what it could do. Thanks to the authors for understanding that "dummies" can learn with the right instructional guide.Book Review: VERY INFORMATIONAL!!

THIS IS THE FIRST 'DUMMIES" PRIMER THAT ACTUALLY ADDED TO MY KNOWLEDGE OF MY NEW NIKON CAMERA . I ACTUALLY LEARNED THINGS I DID NOT ALREADY KNOW.
I HAVE PURCHASED A FEW (MAYBE 3-4) OF THE DUMMIES SERIES OF PRIMERS IN THE PAST AND WAS ALWAYS DISAPPOINTED AS I NEVER GLEANED ANY OF THE PRECISE INFORMATION I NEEDED. EVERYTHING IS THOSE OTHER BOOKS I ALREADY KNEW.

I was very intimidated by my new Nikon D40 camera - so needed a good book to help me start to use it regularly. This book was exactly what I needed. It was very helpful and gave me all the info I needed. I have not yet used the more involved information - but hope to soon. I think it gives a great overview - and goes into more detail than I expected.Book Review: Great Information

I am a beginning photographer. I took a first step from point and shoot to the Nikon D40. Although it was a baby step, I was a bit overwhelmed with the manual controls. This book is an easy to follow instructional aid for photographically challenged individuals (me). I highly recommend this book for new photographers using the Nikon D40.
