Book Review: Great Book. Easy to Follow.

I got a D90 for Christmas after using Canon Digital Rebels for years and was a bit lost. The Nikon just had so many more options and was capable of so much more, I felt overwhelmed. I came across J. Dennis Thomas' blog online and was impressed. So, I bought the D90 Digital Field Guide. Thank God! I would never be using this camera to it's full capacity if I hadn't. The book was easy to read and it didn't confuse me like a lot of technical junk does. I think I have a bit of adult ADD, and I usually give up pretty quickly. The learning curve with this book was just right. I love my D90 and I love that I can do more than use it in P mode like I always did my Rebels. This book made that possible.Book Review: Well worth the price

Nikon's never been known for "easy to follow" manuals that come with their equipment.
Read about something on this page...but reference a critical component on xx page...ugh.
I've gone through many of the D90 "how to" books and this one, by far, was the best.
This is not one of those books that "picks up where the manual left off". It explains clearly and easily whereas the manual does not.
It's great for those who've never held a DSLR before and a very worthwhile addition for those that have.

I just got my D90 last week and started reading this digital field guide. I'm not that technically savvy with professional cameras just yet, but I was really impressed with this book. It's easy to read, visually appealing (photographs), and has helped me tremendously in getting to know all of the buttons on the camera. I feel a little more confident taking photos now.
I highly recommend this book to newcomers to the D90, as it will help you with the basics and get you more comfortable with the camera.

Great book has all the information the manual left out and more. If you have a D90 and are an average amateur photographer you should have this book. It provides clear explanation of all the functions of the D90 short and to the point. The book also has some interesting sections on general photography not specific to the D90 that I found useful.

I am currently reading this D90 Digital Field guide from cover to cover. I picked it up since I earlier purchased a D90. I really appreciate JDT's approach and information. His approach is, for me, a perfect balance between the newbie basic info and a touch of more advanced explanation, with a few personal recommendations thrown in. The D90 has many buttons and menus and options, and this guide is great help in becoming more familiar with its capabilities. Thanks!
