Book Reviews of Nikon D90 For DummiesBook Review: Dummies Delight Summary: 4 Stars
This reference manual has made owning an SLR digital camera enjoyable rather than trying to repeatedly solve the Rubics Cube that many SLRs seem to most resemble. I like the fact that the book is interresting enough to read front to back and organized in such a way that if you want to find out how to use a remote shutter release with a time delay (or without), you can find that information quickly.
While I like the title-.you really do not need to be a "dummy" to appreciate this book. It could be subtitled as the D90 for those "common-sense-dependent".
Book Review: This Should Come With the Camera Summary: 5 Stars
I read the manual cover to cover. It wasn't much help. This was the book that made it all clear and understandable. I like to think I am pretty intelligent but I knew that I didn't have much time before my trip and I wanted to really use my new D90. This helped me get up to speed pretty quickly and even cleared up questions from when I used to shoot with my film SLR. I highly recommend this book for any owner of the D90. It is a great camera with incredible potential but only if you know how to use it. This certainly gets you off to a fast start.
Book Review: Great Addition to the Manual Summary: 5 Stars
Personally, I think the manual for the Nikon D90 is pretty well thought out and explains a great deal in language that I can understand. Especially since I'm going back into the world of photography after a 20+ year absence. But I've had good luck with "For Dummies" books in the past and thought "why not?" Glad I did. It's an excellent companion to the manual and really helps you get a good grip on the camera and all it's amazing functions. You'll feel confident in no time! Well worth adding to your collection!
Book Review: Superb Summary: 5 Stars
Fabulous book! Forget your user manual for now and buy this book as it breaks down all the essentials of this camera. After struggling with the Nikon manual for weeks, I read this and immediately found all kinds of key tricks to making great photos. The author knows Nikon and makes learning the D90, a highly technical piece of equipment, light and easy. I am so glad I bought this and now capture great photos!
I am new to this series of books, but from now own, they will be my first resource!
Book Review: Good Guide to the Camera Summary: 5 Stars
It's a fairly easy to read guide to the camera. It is not to be taken as a reference for composition and the like, but if you have spent 1200 and more on the camera, then this book is worth the money. I only wish it talked more about some of the accessories one can purchase, but then again it is not an advertisement, it is meant to cover the features of the camera itself. Overall worth buying and reading especially if you are on the beginner level and only shooting in Auto as I was before I read it.
