Book Reviews of No More Sleepless NightsBook Review: Should have ordered it a lot sooner!!! Summary: 5 Stars
After suffering insomnia for many years and sensitive to sleeping pills which kept me awake, I switched to natural sleep aids. They didn't work either. So, I went to a Sleep Center and was evaluated. I found that I had mild sleep apnea. This book was recommended to me by one of the CPAP technicians. I read it from cover to cover and wished I had found it 20 years ago. It is extremely informative, and should be read before evaluations even take place. Then one would know what to expect. All is well, and I am sleeping comfortably 7 hours a night with a lot more energy during the day. I don't even need my usual nap time in the afternoons. Everyone with a sleep problem needs this book.

Book Review: Thanks for Helping Me Sleep Better Summary: 5 Stars
As the author of Desperately Seeking Snoozin', I am indebted to Dr. Hauri for his quote that I use on my front cover. Even more importantly, I will be eternally greatful to Dr. Hauri and the other great sleep researchers and clinicians that have developed the techniques that do offer hope for those with insomnia and other sleep problems. I incorporated techniques that he recommends to overcome my severe chronic insomnia problem. Additionally, I recently had the honor of meeting Dr. Hauri at an international sleep convention. In addition to his understanding of insomnia, he is a very nice man. His book should be required reading for anyone with sleep problems. He is the master.
Book Review: Helpful Tips for Sleep Summary: 5 Stars
Peter Hauri has written a book full of good information and practical steps you can take to end insomnia. Here are all the basics to improve your sleep. These include keeping a sleep log, sleep hygiene, relaxation and stress management. Diet and exercise are also addressed. There is some help for diagnosing the sleep problem so that proper treatment is obtained. He addresses narcolepsy, sleep apnea, sleep terrors and other sleep disorders. Sleep problems increase around midlife and can be a function of emotional and stress issues, as the author of Women's Midlife Workbook, I have worked with many women who can use help for sleep at midlife and would find this book useful.
Book Review: Very comprehensive, unbiased book on insomnia Summary: 5 Stars
The depth and breadth of this book is impressive. Dr. Hauri is not pushing a particular cause of or cure for insomnia... he covers a wide range of possible causes and cures. With this breadth of information, the reader can explore his/her own causes and possible solutions. If you are a long-time insomniac, you may find info here that you haven't seen elsewhere. I've had insomnia since childhood, have been to a well-known university sleep center, and found info in this book that has not been provided to me by any physician. Very, very helpful book. I've been sleeping well for 9 months nearly every night. Before I would have one good night of sleep every 6 months or so.
Book Review: This helped. Summary: 5 Stars
I liked this book. It helped me sleep better. The logs were easy to do, made sense, condensed information for me to get a feel for what was going on sleeping and waking. I made them into an Excel spreadsheet.
His reassurances helped me to relax- I am in control, I can function for awhile with less sleep, when I become deprived a certain amount I will sleep- all of those were true. That helped me "go with the flow" and let me calm down and sleep better. The tone of this book is very reassuring.
I don't sleep like I did when I was 25, but I've found I sleep well enough and have improved by doing this program.
