Book Reviews of No Time for Goodbye

Book Review: Good mystery, all the pieces came together
Summary: 3 Stars

You Wake up
Your House is Empty
Your Family as Disappeared
Without a Trace.........

I thought this was a good mystery, but my only issue is that I figured it out early on. Now when you figure out what is going on, it becomes an OMG moment and you have to read the rest in one sitting. So that was exciting for me but for some I think they may be let down once they figure it out.

Barclay did an excellent job on piecing it all together though, that alone was exciting to read.

I would have gave it 3 1/2 stars but couldn't figure out how, sorry.

Book Review: Loved it
Summary: 5 Stars

I was leaving for a trip and had little time to spare before I left so I stopped by Walgreens and looked at the selection they had. I was torn between this and another book but I'm so glad I picked this one! I haven't read many thrillers but this one was definitely one of my favorites. My trip was only three days long, but I finished it in that period of time and probably could have finished it faster had I not had stuff to do. I highly recommend it if you're looking for some definite excitement. Can't wait to read more Linwood Barclay work in the future.

Book Review: A Fun Read despite a few flaws.
Summary: 4 Stars

My first Barclay read; will check out others that were recommended as being better than "No Time for Goodbye", since I had fun reading this one.
Generally kept my interest, a little slow and repetitious at times while one or another character was brought up to date on events that had already transpired. Some unbelievable twists and turns, but I think I'm getting better at accepting that mysteries and thrillers don't necessarily adhere to having to be plausible at all times, and am able to enjoy the extra pizzazz they are intended to bring to the story.

Book Review: Poorly written plot with an abundance of profanity
Summary: 2 Stars

I have read a number of Linwood Barclay's books and found them to be thrillers that warranted a one-sitting read. This one lost my interest after the first few chapters. The characters were not well developed and I found myself wishing that Cynthia would just get on with her life and let it go. I was also distracted with the constant profanity and use of the name of the Lord in vain. Every character used profanity without reserve. The plot was intriguing in its inception but failed miserably to deliver with its banal evolution.

Book Review: Gift Giver
Summary: 4 Stars

I was totally amazed at the price I got this book for. This shopping is so much better than going out to a store. This book was given as a gift to my friend, who started this book and was in dire need to finish it. When I received the book, the packaging was great, but the price on the back of the book should've been taken off. The book was used and could be told due to the edges of the pages. All and all the book was in excellent condition.
