Book Review: Finally, Beginner Reading to Interest Boys

We tried so many beginner reader books and they just did not hold the interest of my boy. I almost created my own. But then we discovered this series and since then, he just cruised through them and is now an avid reader.
The pictures are colorful, the stories are cute and intriguing, and they have stickers that relate to each story that can be used as rewards for completing each small book.
We have now moved on to the "independent" ones and he still goes back and wants to cruise through the levels 1-4 ones just for fun.
Highly recommend!!
Book Review: My six year old begged to read more.

I don't write reviews very often, but I felt I needed to with this book. My son is beginning first grade this year, and is reading short words, but he doesn't like to sit very long. It is a struggle to get him through more than one book a day. However, with this set I can usually get him to read through at least two stories. And today, when he discovered the stickers he could earn for reading, he read every book in the set. I was amazed! Fun stories with fun pictures. (I also like Bob books - but he likes these better:)Book Review: just what my 4 yr. old needed

This has simple 3 letter words put together in a small story. There are 10 stories in diffenent word families with repetition and increasing "difficulty". Once read, the child gets a sticker reward. Many of the the "beginning" readers we've seen, my son needs me to fill in many MANY words and he gets frustrated. Using basic phonics he can read these little "books" and that makes him so proud. These books are wonderful. Truly written by someone who knows kids and knows phonics. They are colorful and attractive, the stories cute and funny, and the difficulty level is exactly right. They are just what kids need who are learning to read. I am a homeschooling mom, and I haven't found better books for this purpose! HIGHLY recommend!
