Book Reviews of Nunchaku: Karate Weapon of Self-DefenseBook Review: good applications & technique - no kata Summary: 5 Stars
Demura does an excellent job of explaining basic techniques and applications for each, expecially for those with a decent martial arts background. Between looking at the pictures and reading the explainations I was able to figure out every technique demonstrated. The only downside was that he didn't include a kata in the book.
Book Review: A great book for beginners Summary: 5 Stars
This book teaches you everything from what the parts of the nunchuck are called, to how to defend agaist a Bo and Knife. I Highly reccommend this book for beginners. If you are not a beginner I recommend the book "Advanced Nunchaku" by the same author.
Book Review: Great Beginner Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book great for anyone wanting to get an introduction to nunchaku. It contains many begining techniques. I highly recommend this book. Review: It's a very good first nunchaku book Summary: 4 Stars
What this book does, it does very well, which is explain basic techniques for handling the 'chucks. However, I would have liked to see at least one basic form, and ideally, intermediate and advanced forms as well.
Book Review: Introducing Nunchaku Summary: 4 Stars
This book is an excellent source for students who have never held nunchaku. (Though I do recommend having an instructor teach you the basics). A great value when I bought it in 1971.
