Book Reviews of Once Upon a Potty -- Boy

Book Review: Incredibly useful tool in potty training
Summary: 5 Stars

We began potty training our 19 month old son recently, because the doctor said he is showing all the signs, etc. And in fact, he has been telling us when it is time to change his diaper and is upset if he is at all wet. A little boy I babysat as a teenager had this book and had seemed helpful so this was one of my first purchases. I read the book to my son and imediately after, he wanted to go try out his potty. While he didn't go at that time, he ended up using it within about 4 days, when he asked to read the book again.

Book Review: Disappointed about this "potty classic"
Summary: 3 Stars

I know this is a book that has been around for awhile but I was disappointed. I think there is a lot better options. If I could tear out a few of the pages where the boy is playing games with his potty chair, that would be good. I have a toddler that learns by example (aka monkey see, monkey do) and the idea of showing him different things the boy in this book can do with his potty is a terrible idea! The potty is used for one thing... going potty! I think there are better options than this one.

Book Review: My son loves this.
Summary: 3 Stars

This book goes with the DVD. Together it makes a great gift iteam. My son just turn two. He had this book since we was 18 months. He loves to read about the Potty and watch the DVD too. Ofcourse, doctors says that the best time for boys to start potty training is around 2 1/2 years and your boy will really understand it my 34 months. So don't aspect any miracles with this book but start showing him the Dvd and read this book to familiarize with the concept of going to potty. :)

Book Review: Got the point across quickly
Summary: 5 Stars

This book worked well for giving my son the idea of going potty. Best of all, he found the part where Joshua was trying to figure out what the potty was for very humerous so he wanted to read it often. I agree with others about the terms used, but since he can't read, I just substituted the words I preferred. The author gets across the point that sometimes it takes time to learn and also time to sit on the potty, and I think this really helped my son. I highly recommend it.

Book Review: Strange looking potty
Summary: 3 Stars

I agree with other reviews that this is the strangest looking potty I've ever seen. This is not what any American potty looks like. However, my 23 month old son likes to read about Joshua, and he likes to look at the pictures of the poo-poo in the diaper, and the poo-poo in the potty, and the poo-poo in the big potty. Now he likes to look at his poo-poo in the potty before we flush it down the toilet. But he's still not potty trained.
