Book Review: Reduce your Knitting Stash???
Summary: 4 Stars

One Skein Wonders as a concept promises to reduce your knitting stash, but many of the projects take very special yarns which necessitates MORE yarn purchases. I was hoping for less!! Some of the projects are way to cutesie for me, but others are useful and attractive and some of those even flexible with respect to type of yarn used. This book is better than some of its competitors, but still not ideal. For instance, if you don't knit with mohair ever, none of the one skein projects calling for a mohair type of yarn can be easily adapted to yarns from your own stash and a few too many of the projects call for novelty yarns.

Book Review: A great addition to my collection!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this book for so many reasons! First, it's organized by yarn weight, which makes it so easy to use when I want to substitute yarn (which is just about always).

Second, I live in the land of winter; therefore, I can NEVER have too many hats, socks, mittens, arm warmers, leg warmers, scarves, and shawls.

And third, it's great to have a collection of small patterns, for those times when I've become bogged down in that sweater or afghan that just takes forever and then some.

I have a copy for me, and I'm totally going to give it as as a gift later this year!

Book Review: Ideas unlimited!
Summary: 5 Stars

In a word, BRILLIANT! At last a book with plenty of choice for knitters of all abilities. Sure there's plenty of hats, scarves and bags, but what a choice! There are also many unusual items like the Felted Gift Bag, Curtain Tie-Backs, Beaded Napkin Rings to name a few. You don't even need to use the yarn specified, as mentioned in the introduction. It is a REAL way to find a use for all those odd balls of yarn which are in every dedicated knitter's collection. With 101 patterns from which to choose, it offers good value for money and a scope of ideas for gift-giving or just knitting for yourself.

Book Review: one of the best books to have
Summary: 5 Stars

I truly like this book so much - this is the one book that I continually go back to for inspiration, to find a great 'quick-to-make' gift and there is big money-savings on only needing ONE skein of yarn [seriously think of all the yarn-lovers of high-quality, fabulous handpainted yarns]. I am one of those that never uses the pattern designated yarns and will opt for a different specific yarn that I want to use with the same yardage. This book contains such an awesomely amazing variety of things to try! It clearly is a must-have knitting book that you will treasure.

Book Review: it's okay
Summary: 3 Stars

I can't recommend this book very highly. Sure, it has some fun, easy projects that will help use up some leftover yarn. It's well organized, too. But there just isn't a whole lot of uniqueness here. While there are 101 patterns in it, they seem rather rudundant. I mean, how many sock patterns and bag patterns can you put into one book (unless it's a book specifically about socks or bags) before it gets kindof lame? I guess I would just say that there are better books about using up small amounts of yarn, such as Last-Minute Knitted Gifts and One Skein.
