Book Reviews of Out Of Print - Treat Your Own Neck 4th EdBook Review: Back Book With a Smidgin of Extra Content Summary: 4 Stars
The book gives excellent and effective advice on ways to avoid neck pain and how to correct the mistakes of posture and exercise which produce chronic neck pain.
We purchased a different book by the same authors on back pain. That book too is excellent in the ways noted above.
My only gripe is that the advice given has been packaged into two wrappers, no doubt to hook suckers like us who thought the neck-pain book would have substantially different content from the back-pain book. Save yourself some dough and buy one or the other, not both.
Book Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
Before I was introduced to this book by my girlfriend (bless her heart), I was seeing a Chiropractor once sometimes twice a week with little or no relief. I purchased this book along with McKenzie's Cervical Roll Neck Support and after a couple days of doing the recommended excercises in the book, I was pain free! I still do the excercises but only as needed which is very seldom. I strongly recommend this book to anyone with mild to severe neck pain and discomfort. Totally awesome and cost way less than "one" visit to the Chiropractor's office!
Book Review: Required Reading by my Physical Therapist Summary: 5 Stars
I had constant, burning knots around the shoulder blade (scapula) and radiating up and down the nerves. I went to physical therapy for the pain. My physical therapist required that I read this book in order for her to treat me. She based her treatment and recommendations on the book and they worked. Whenever the pain comes back, I start doing the exercises in the book again and before long I am pain-free. I also recommend another book by the same author: "Treat Your Own Back". It shows you how to prevent and treat those lower back spasms.
Book Review: A book for a pain free lifestyle Summary: 5 Stars
I occasionally have severe neck pain that leads to debilitating headaches, and finally bought this book to stop the pain (I already own McKenzie's "Treat Your Own Back"). The exercises in this book were great, but the real value of the book was learning how to keep my head in correct posture and learning how to shape my pillow to stop the neck pain from sleeping. This is an excellent book, and it's really helped me stop my neck pain from reoccurring. I highly recommend it to everyone suffering from neck pain.
Book Review: A must read Summary: 5 Stars
I injured a nerve in my neck, causing tremendous arm and neck/shoulder pain and numbness in my fingers. The physical therapist I was seeing used the methods outlined in this book and recommended me buying the book and sharing with everyone. After 5 sessions my pain was gone, the numbness in my fingers gone and I have great range of motion in my neck. This is a must read for anyone with pain or just for maintaining your cervical health.
