Book Reviews of Outrageous Hero The B.T. Collins StoryBook Review: You never know how great you can be until you meet Adversity Summary: 5 Stars
Being a wounded Green Beret the book appealed to me and it surpassed my expectations! We served in the same area and he was devouted to his country, family, and his teammates!! I spent six months in Valley Forge General Hospital as a patient and I thought I was there again while reading each line in the book. I believe we were very talented and skilled professionals that lived up to every challenge presented. He ran his personal life as if it were an operation in combat. As a Republican he took a job with a Democrat because he belived in his leadership and could support him totally. He made teens realize that working hard and having respect for themselves made you feel good!
His relationship with God is one that many veterans go through as I believe in a God but don't think he is just there for one denomination. When you see atrocities it shakes your very belief that a God would allow them to happen. You learn that he does this to check your ability and follow the path that will make you the most productive.
I cried(yes real men cry, laughed, shared the pain, and shared the pride in which he lived his life.
I have been a CEO for many different hospitals over the past 35 years and I believe that I have made them better places because of the lessons I learned as a Green Beret.
I read this book not knowing what to expect and the journey was one that took my breath away, gave me great pride. I remember that all that hurt and pain made the trip worthwhile.
I think you will be a better person for reading this book. His courage in everything he did was never questioned nor his devotion to get it done!

Summary of Outrageous Hero The B.T. Collins StoryA book about the life of California's maverick politico, B.T. Collins, war hero, public servant, and double amputee.Definitely not a war story, but the story of a warrior, a chronicle of a hero in the making, of courage beyond the battlefield, and a love of country that transcended any political party. Poignant, often hilarious tale of a life lived with gusto, of an American original who touched you to the very raw. Irascible, irreverent, and annoyingly politically incorrect, B.T. made you laugh when you wanted to cry, cry when you had never cried before over things like the "Stars and Strips" or the "Star Spangled Banner." He was brutally honest and unyielding when it came to principles. No one was ever blase about B.T. Collins.
