Book Reviews of Painless Grammar (Barron's Painless)

Book Review: This Is So Brilliant!
Summary: 5 Stars

Painless Grammar is completely different from any typical grammar stuff! We tend to label grammar as boring, but I noticed something totally different from what we learned at school; it doesn't involve any dull and/or old-fashioned structures at all. What really intrigued me was the last chapter dealing with how to e-mail! Actually, I like that chapter best in this book. That was the least I'd expected! Facial expressions and abbreviations drew my attention because both of them are expressed differently from Japanese. I think using them sometimes helps you enjoy e-mailing your friends. Of course, I know too much use of them confuses readers, though. I bet dealing with e-mail is a down-to-earth and up-to-date approach to attract readers!

Book Review: The best grammar book out there.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've purchased a lot of grammar books in my time, and I've disliked all of them for a number of reasons. I was beginning to think a grammar book that didn't talk down to you while being incredibly boring in the process was a pipe dream; however, I purchased this with a gift card I got for Christmas on whim after the reading the reviews. Long story short, I couldn't be more pleased with this book.

A great buy for all age groups, whether you're just looking for a quick, easy reference or trying to teach your younger family members like I am.

If you only buy one book on grammar in your entire life, make sure it's this one!

Book Review: Fun to read and recall
Summary: 5 Stars

Time will tell whether my grammar has improved with this book.It is fun and easy read. With the first chapter you I realized that I was a Capital fanatic and the last chapter told me -I was no good in writing emails.Humour interspersed with nouns and verbs.I even learned from the writing email section of the book.

I have the English Grammar in Use series and they are more learning the grammatically correct English language but this book quickly fixing the grammar.

Book Review: Excellent for homeschooling
Summary: 5 Stars

This makes a GREAT middle school grammar book. It is clear and simple. I only added sentence diagramming. Compare the price and the content to other homeschool grammars and this one comes out on top in my book. In fact we're still using it as a light reference when writing, though I do disagree about it being for high school. This is the perfect book to get kids ready for high school English.

Book Review: Great for students or adults!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for use at home as we home-educate our children. I thought this would help me to brush up on my grammar skills, but my kids immediately picked this book up and started using it on their own. It is very user friendly - an easy read for any age, and a great review for middle and high school students. My 14 yr old uses it as a reference when she is writing. Highly recommended!
