Book Reviews of Pajama Time!Book Review: Least favorite Boynton book Summary: 2 Stars
We like many of Boynton's books. The stories are cute, the phrases are catchy, and our son loves the pictures. Pajama Time, however, is the exception. The words aren't sing-songy and interesting like the others, they just feel empty. There is no story here, just a silly song. We don't enjoy reading it at all-- I just can't get into reading "jammy, jammy, jammy, jammy, p, j" After a couple tries, we don't read this book at bedtime anymore. There are so many other great bedtime book options out there. I'm giving it two stars rather than one because the pictures are as good as ever.
Book Review: baby books Summary: 5 Stars
I first read this book when I was a student baby sitting for extra bucks. I discovered there was a rythm to the story and I turned it into a song. The kids loved it! now I have a little girl and bed time is her favorite time of day because of the book. She doesn't speak very well but sings along and knows what to say at each page. Sometimes she skips pages to her favorite parts (like "pajama to the left, pajama to the right). it's so adorable. I'm glad that i started singing it to her otherwise I'd have been worn down with reading the same book every day of the year.
A must buy!!
Book Review: The favorite book here Summary: 5 Stars
My 18 mos old loves this book. I swear I read this to him at least 10 times a day. He carries it around with him and loves to look at the pictures. I have read this book so many times that I dont even need the book to recite the story, I have it memorized. The book has a pleasant rhyme to it that makes for a great little song. My son especially loves it when I sing it to him. He now walks around singing jamma jamma jamma PJ!!! and uses this to let me know it is once again to read pajama time. I cant praise this book enough, this book has my son loving stories read to him.
Book Review: Bedtime Rhythms Summary: 5 Stars
All of Sandra Boynton's children's books are charmingly illustrated and very enjoyable to read. This book, PAJAMA TIME is written in such a way that you can make it sound all the more humorous to young children by establishing a rhythmic delivery that will make the child giggle & want to join in the fun. My 3 year old granddaughter loves to hear this book and asks for it over & over. It's the perfect short story before bedtime, although usually I find that when you read a child one Sandra Boynton book she is going to want to hear another & another; they're just that much fun!
Book Review: Best bedtime book! Summary: 5 Stars
We received this book when my daughter was 13 months old and it has been part of our nightly routine ever since. The book has a wonderful, soothing rhythm and eye-catching graphics that keep my daughter's undivided attention. By now, I have it memorized and helps me read it even when the light is off. If my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night, I can recite this book and put her back down without problems. Also, this book has been a blessing when we are visiting out of town. (Makes her feel more comfortable before bed.) This book has my highest recommendation!
