Book Reviews of Pajama Time!Book Review: Love the story, but cover is easily destroyed Summary: 4 Stars
I've been reading this to my now 14-month old for several months as a bedtime story--now, when he's ready to go to bed, he brings me this book! It makes him laugh and I haven't gotten tired of it even after all these months. While of course babies are going to bend the covers of any book, the Boynton books with cutouts (particularly this one) suffer the worst; the cover is about to rip in two. I wish they had just made this with a solid cover and then I would give it 5 stars. Fortunately, it's cheap enough that I'll just buy another copy when this one is worn out.
Book Review: I read it at bedtime every night to my 2 year old Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this book a couple weeks ago because my 2 year old daughter was tired of Sweet Dreams Mimi and i needed a new nighttime book to throw into the mix. I know the excited tone i read this book in has helped make it her favorite but the words are very catchy. There is only one word it the book i don't like at that is refers to one pair of pajamas as the Ugliest you've ever seen, i replace that word with Silliest as i see no need for my 2 year old to label things as ugly. So we read Pajama time, The going to bed book, Goodnight moon and she falls asleep
Book Review: it's got a great beat & you can dance to it Summary: 5 Stars
Since he was 2 or 3 months old, my baby has loved to hear us chant this catchy rhyme. Keep a good, steady rhythm when you read it aloud, dance with it or pound the crib mattress to keep time, and it's magic. "Pajammy to the left! Pajammy to the right! Jamma jamma jamma jamma P!J!" seldom fails to get a baby grin. The pictures of happy dancing animals, like most of Boynton's illustrations, just radiate good feeling. This is too good to save for bedtime (in fact, it's so rousing, parents might prefer to use it earlier in the day).
Book Review: What a Fun Book Summary: 5 Stars
My oldest girl, now 5, loved this book from an early age and now my son, 2, loves it too! They both love to "dance" along with the "jammie to the left, jammie to the right". We also enjoying matching the jammies we are wearing with the ones in the book. "Some and red, some are blue, . . . they might be stripey, or polka dot, but we can all pajammy in whatever we got." The book also ends gently and the ending helps makes the nights when they would rather not go to sleep more fun. We always look forward to reading this book.
Book Review: Fun and Fabulous at Bedtime Summary: 5 Stars
We received this book on my daughters 1st birthday. She immediately loved it. We sing the book to her as this book easily lends itself to song. In the beginning we pointed to all of the different objects the text refers to: the moon, pink pajamas, blue pajamas and such. After a few readings, she is now pointing to the objects as we sing the book to her. She loves it, and it has made putting her down for bed such an ease. We sing the book two times and then it time for "night-night." This book is heartily recommended.
